No Ones' POV
Anger, pain, sadness - so intertwined that perhaps their names ought to be tweaked to reflect the true origins of those emotions.
Lena Luthor felt them all.
The anger from her eyes showed the scared child within, the girl who was taught to fight and starved of the love she craved. You could see the pain beneath it and her soul drowning in this persona she'd carved to fit a world of indifference. But you can't help someone like that, not unless the tears come and they realise what's really going on. The best you can offer her is a void, to let her shadow box until she craves the sunlight.
She locked herself away. Away from the world.
You never saw her outside, just indoors.
No one got a glimpse of her. Even the Kryptonian couldn't see her.
She had been blinded
Blinded by Lead, used by the Luthor.
It's almost as if she wanted to be forgotten, to never be spoken of again, never to be remembered. And she was clearly doing a good job at it.
She was hurting, but she was not tackling her feelings but instead boxing her emotions and throwing herself into her projects.
Not even resting.
Sleeping brought her nightmares not dreams
She even feared closing her eyes
Closing her brought everything that she had tried to forget to the surface
It reminded her of her pain
Of her fears
Fear found her. It spoke to her in its cackling voice. It told her legs to go weak, her stomach to lurch and her heart to ache. Lena's mother once told her that there was nothing to fear but fear itself, but still, she could not silence its voice.
She caved in.
The pain she felt was too much
She couldn't bring herself to handle or deal with it
She had pushed all the concepts Kara Danvers and all her supposedly friends to the back of mind
But from time to time the Kryptonian popped to her frontal lobe
She hated it
She hated the fact that she still felt something towards her
Of all the people Lena Luthor still cared for her
She still got that same feeling she gets when the thought of Kara's face appears to her
That same feeling she gets when she hears her voice
Her laugh
Her touch
Everything about her brought her a warm feeling she loved. So no matter how many mistakes or how far the Kryptonian went to break her heart, she could never really hate her even if she wanted to.
Even though she wronged her in every way imaginable, she couldn't bring herself to forget about her
She tried
Tried so much to hate her
But it didn't work out so well for her
But she wasn't planning on seeing her anytime soon
She didn't want to hear her voice
Because she knew the moment she did, she would want to run back to her.
