17. what happened to her?

"Manik what the hell was this?" shouted an angry Nandini when she saw that Manik threw his clothes everywhere on the floor of his room. Manik who was lying on bed gave her a sheepish smile and closed his eyes.

"Manik do you still think you are a child; you are captain of Indian cricket team" Nandini spoke while taking his clothes and arranging them in his closet. She was so into it that she didn't see Manik coming near her, she felt him when he back hugged her

"The captain of cricket team is Manik Malhotra who lives outside this house, in this house its only Manik, in this room it's your Manik and on bed I am an monster" he spoke the last part teasing her and kissing her on her neck which made her blush

"You are crazy" she spoke and hit him on his stomach with her elbow making him laugh

"But this crazy guy is only for you" Manik spoke while she turned towards him in his arms

"So, my crazy guy, if you didn't clean this room in the next 10 minutes, then the monstress in me will come out and will beat you" she spoke while he looked at her with a smirk making her confused

"You know I love when you beat me especially when I suddenly entered inside you" he spoke, and she looked at him with an angry face

"Enough of your nonsense, I want this room clean by the time I come back otherwise forget about kisses" she spoke folding her hands near her chest. Manik looked at her with a cute pout which almost melted her but then she glared at him again which made him clean the room with a grumpy face.

"Why is my baby so grumpy?" Nandini asked him as he sat on bed after cleaning the room. Manik looked at her with a mean look

"Because you are being mean?" he spoke and again made a pout which made her smile

"What did I do?" she asked him

"You said no kisses" he spoke which made her smile at him again

"Ok" saying this she gave him a kiss on his cheek which made him smile. Soon he started to kiss her on her lips, and they made love. Manik fell asleep in Nandini arms but he woke up when he felt her slipping from his arms. He tried to hold her but then she moved out from his arms. He opened his eyes to see her going out from the window

"Jaan" he spoke slowly which made Nandini turn towards him

"Sorry Manik I have to go" saying this she jumped from window which made Manik shout her name

"Nandini" Manik shouted and woke up from his sleep, he looked here and there for Nandini. He didn't find her anywhere so Manik moved out from his room and reached the living room shouting her name

Listening to his shouts, Abhi and Mukti also came out from their room and they were confused seeing Manik like that

"Manik" Abhi called out to him which made him look at both

"Thank god you came guys, please call this Nandini, she is hiding somewhere and not coming outside only" Manik spoke looking here and there but listening to him both Abhi and Mukti had tears in their eyes

"Bhai, Nandu is not there" Mukti spoke with tears which made Manik realise the things. He stood rooted on his place for seconds, seeing him like his Mukti went to him and held his shoulder

"Bhai" she spoke and Manik fell on his knees and shouted her name crying

"Why did this happen Mukti, what bad she did?" Manik asked her in between his tears and Mukti held him close to her heart

"Bhai nothing will happen to Nandini" Mukti spoke and Manik kept on crying. Seeing them like this even Abhi cried and he came and hugged both

"She will be fine guys" Abhi spoke in a whisper while his own voice was trembling with fear and heartbreak

The next morning the trio reached the spot again where the search party was going to start their duties

"Sir these are the things we found her yesterday, so will you confirm that it belongs to Nandini?" the inspector asked showing the packets which contains Nandini sweater, shoes and mobile phone.

"Sir, these mobile phone and sweater belongs to her, but this shoe doesn't belong to her" Abhi spoke looking at the things in the plastic bag. Manik saw those things and he smiled

"Because those are my shoes" Manik spoke making all of them shocked

"Nandini had this habit of taking some of things whenever she goes to tour, I think she got my shoes this time" Manik spoke which made the inspector confused

"Why will she take your things sir?" the inspector asked Manik which made him smile

"Because I am her life and she is my jaan" Manik spoke and this one line was enough for the inspector to understand his love for her. The inspector then started to speak with Abhi

"Sir, we are unable to decide whether she is completely effected by the landslide or not" the inspector spoke making Manik look at him

"We can know that" Manik spoke making all look at him with confusion

"This shows are customised and I made them install a sensing device on them, which will record the moments of your leg and pressure you apply on shoe" Manik spoke and then he wore gloves and took the shoe in his hands.

He turned the shoe and bend it a little to remove the chip and he connected it to laptop to read the reports.

"Sir see here, this means that she wore the shoes in the morning 7 and then she roamed here and there and she reached here because there was increase in altitude at 7:15 AM and then she removed the shoes based on this pattern at 7:30 AM, the land slide time was 8:45AM which means there was a gap of one hour here which means that she moved away from here" Manik spoke making all of them confused

"Why will she leave her shoes and go in this cold climate?" inspector asked and all of them were confused

"Either someone took her, or she went down the hill with her own will" Abhi spoke

"There is no chance of some one taking her because outside the camp premises my guards were there. So, there is no kidnapping which means she went down the hill herself" Manik spoke and looked at the hill in front of him

"But why" he murmured while all had tensed faces.
