Seolhi froze at her place as she stared at me shocked.
Oh dear, don't be. We've just started. There'll be more.
"You've got a gorgeous daughter, Mr. Lee. Well, nice to meet you too. I hope you'll get along well with my daughter; Seolhi" Mr. Kang greeted and bowed
Seolhi said nothing still staring at me. Fright and nervous were shown in her eyes
"Right Mr. Kang. Seolhi and I will get along well. What do you think, Seolhi?" I asked and raise my eyebrow, waiting for her answer.
Still not responding, Mr. Kang softly elbowed her daughter and I smirked.
"U-uh yes of course. That would be g-great" Seolhi answered trying hard not to show how nervous she is
"What's wrong Seolhi? Have you seen my daughter before?" Dad asked as he stood beside me with a smile
"N-no Mr. Lee. I haven't. By the way, nice to meet you Ms. Lee"
That's right. Bow to me.
"Alright. Let us all take a seat while we wait for the others" Mr. Kang smiled and spread his left arm, for us to walk first.
Dad pulled the chair for me to have a seat first as Mr. Kang did the same for his daughter.
"So– Mr. Lee, I am a bit curious about our other guests" Mr. Kang flashed a smile while we're seating around the wide circular table
"That's why I've also invited them right?" Dad and I both chuckled as I looked at Seolhi who immediately avoided my gaze and drink her water on the glass
The sound of the doorknob outside caught our attention as the hotel staffs opened the door widely enough for the guests to enter.
"Ladies and gentlemen, you're finally here" My dad greeted as I smiled widely
Everyone's attention turned to Seolhi when we heard her choke on her water
"Of course uncle. This is an important meeting to discuss some businesses" Yoon said and landed her eyes to Seolhi that became uneasy and startled
"Mr. Kang, I'd like you to meet our new shareholders of Lee Corporation" As dad and I stood up to introduce the guys and the two ladies, Mr. Kang stare at us with amazement in his eyes while Seolhi kept her head down
"It's our pleasure to meet you again, Ms. Seolhi and Mr. Kang" Jin said and all of them bowed
"I am Yoon Min; daughter of the owner of Min Corporation; the parent company of Min Cruise Line Holdings and also, the YM Cruise and Voyages International. It's nice to meet you Mr. Kang and your daughter, Seolhi" Yoon smirked at Seolhi before taking a bow while Mr. Kang's eyes widened after Yoon's greeting
"Pleasure to meet you Ms. Seolhi and Mr. Kang. I am Drette Jung behind DEJU Airways and Aimjette Airlines of Jung Corporation. I'm the one who's also handling the luxury hotel; Dream Orient" Drette smiled and bowed to them
"It really amaze me that all of you are all successful and independent to handle these prestigious companies and corporations at such a very young age" Mr. Kang said with amazement and at the same time, disappointment on his voice.
After Yoon and Drette's astonishing introduction, Mr. Kang invited all of us to the table for the dinner to start.
"So, which company are you handling now Seolhi?" Dad looked at Seolhi who immediately stopped eating while Mr. Kang cleared his throat
"I haven't h-handled any of our companies Mr. Lee" She said tensed
"It'll be better if Seolhi will not handle any of the companies right now. I think she's not yet ready for it" Mr. Kang said and forced a smile as me, Yoon, Drette and the guys exchange glances and smirked.
Lies.
After eating our dinner, we moved on to the couches as the true motive of this business will start.
"So as you see Mr. Kang, as a businessman, I accepted your invitation for this dinner, right? I've read the business proposal that you sent the last time, being a respective entrepreneur I want to meticulously dig down informations about the other businesses that are trying to enter and tie up with our business to maintain the privilege of Lee Corporation" Dad formally said and we noticed how did Mr. Kang tense up
"But first, may I know again– why did you choose Lee Corporation?" He added and all of us just listened
"Aside from the fact that it'd be great to tie up with your continuously expanding business, we also want to invest in a company where we'll be secured" Mr. Kang said and looked down
"Is that so? Then can you explain this to me–" Dad played an audio from his MacBook that his secretary brought earlier as Mr. Kang frowned
"How about the proposal to Lee Corporation? We need them– no! They're the only hope of our businesses. I told you to stay close to them– just slowly take millions from their net worth– of course that amount is just nothing as they are the largest corporation here. Alright, I'll schedule a meeting with them" Then there, the audio stopped as Mr. Kang and Seolhi froze to their seats, slightly shaking
"You could've just asked formally and legally, Mr. Kang. The way you thought about stealing a huge amount of money from the Corporation isn't a right thing that an entrepreneur do! I didn't expect that it'll end up like that. That you really paid someone in my Corporation just to steal a larger amount of money, instead of using it to survive your business!" Dad raised his voice that made some of us flinch
"Dad, calm down" I said softly to dad who's still staring directly to Mr. Kang.
Everyone was shocked when Mr. Kang suddenly kneeled down both of his knees on the floor and bowed.
"I am sorry Mr. Lee. Please forgive me– it's just that I don't have any choices to help my businesses again–" Mr. Kang said while sobbing when Seolhi suddenly talked
"Dad stand up. You don't have to do that to them" She narrowed my eyes to dad as I glared at her while raising my left brow
"No! This is the only thing that I can do to ask for their forgiveness! This is all your fault! Yours and your Mom! If only the both of you handled our own money right! Please Mr. Lee, I'm begging you" All of us don't know what to do when Mr. Kang suddenly cried harder.
After the dinner meeting with my dad from last time, we did a further investigation about Mr. Kang and his family. Especially about Seolhi.
That's when we knew that their family is in debt with other businesses. Investors and others started to leave them as their companies and hotels slowly falls down. Seolhi and her Mom used to spent their money on luxurious things and always go to Casino that they end up having debt with it also.
I feel bad for Mr. Kang because he's the only one who's struggling to survive their company while her wife and daughter are just having a good time spending all of his money just for their pleasure. But it doesn't erase the fact that he planned on stealing a million amount of money to our Corporation.
"Your daughter's right Mr. Kang. Please go back to your seat–
cause we're not done yet"
