(Johnny Ghost's POV)
"Carter! We're gonna be late!" I whined."Hold your horses!" She ordered.
'What does that even mean?' Jimmy asked.
It means hold on, I informed.
'Then why don't people just say hold on? Why do they have to say that stuff with the horses?' He questioned.
How should I know? I asked.
Carter walked down the stairs wearing a black dress. It went just above her knees and had straps that tied around her neck.
'She looks good in black' Jimmy mumbled causing me to burst out laughing.
"What? Do I look funny? Is there lipstick on my teeth?" Carter asked, checking herself in the mirror.
"N-no, you look great, amazing," I stuttered. "Jimmy just said that you look good in black."
Carter's cheeks turned pink as she looked down and played with the hem of her skirt.
"We should get going," I suggested. "We don't want to be late."
"Your right," she agreed. "And as soon as I get a car then you don't have to keep driving me around."
"But I like driving you around," I said.
She rolled her eyes, grabbed her purse, and hopped out the door. When I got out to the car, Carter was repeatedly pulling the door handle even though it was locked.
"You're as impatient as Jimmy," I mumbled.
I unlocked the car and slid into my seat.
"Oh, and by the way, happy birthday," I said.
"It's not really a happy birthday," she mumbled. "We're on our way to the funeral of my parents and my brother."
She kept her head turned to the window but I could still see a tear roll down her cheek.
"Cheer up! It's your birthday! You're twenty-two!" I exclaimed, trying to cheer her up. It was to no avail. "Tell you what, why don't we do something fun afterwards. All of us, you, me, Toast, Sally, Georgina, Anthony, and, dare I say, Joey."
"Like what?" She sniffled.
"Have you ever been sledding before?" I asked.
"I'm from Texas, what do you think?" She said sassily. "But it's June, there's no snow."
"Good point," I agreed. "Let's go to Canada!"
"I'm not in the mood for a long car ride," she mumbled.
"Then let's go to the Caribbean!" I joked.
"Now you're just being unreasonable," she said, trying to sound grumpy but she giggled a little.
"I think we should go to sky zone," I suggested.
"What's that?" She asked.
"It's this really fun place that has a bunch of trampolines and stuff," I explained.
'I love that place!' Jimmy shouted. 'But don't you think we'll need a change of clothes first?'
"Wow, Jimmy's actually being smart for once," I teased.
"What'd he say?" Carter asked.
"He said we should probably change clothes first," I repeated. "You can't really go on trampolines wearing a dress."
"I guess that sounds fun." Carter shrugged. "Its better than staying home alone."
"That's the spirit, sort of," I said. "You know, you're really something special."
