Lies

58 11 4

Lying will only ever hold the truth

The words you say

Never make it to my brain

Don't tell me everything will be okay

Because it won't

Will never be the same

You'll just be lying

Straight to my face

Hiding the truth

About you and

All this pain

In the eyes of the innocent

Your words are wrong

They float around like loose atoms

Particles in your brain

Ready to collide

And explode in my mind

False confessions

They hide the truth

Witnesses lie too

So they don't have to hide

From you

Will they ever come forward

And tell the truth?

Or will they let innocent people die

Because of their lies

Because of what you do

No matter what happens

Whatever you say

It all comes to an end

With my testimony against you

(A/N) This poem was inspired by my own imagination, scenes from both Apple TV Original Home Before Dark and NBC American Drama Series Manifest and 2006 'bank robbery like never before' film starring Clive Owen, Jodie Foster and Denzel Washington, Inside Man.

The poem is about a court case involving many witnesses and perspectives, making it hard to distinguish between what's true and what's pure lies.

By the way, if you've never watched Inside Man, (2006) I highly recommend it.
