Even after the birth of Kaia and Riki and the baby's homecoming, Niko tried to continue with his work schedule. There were a lot of adjustments to be done. Though Niko somehow anticipated them already, actually having to go through the experience was another story.
"Cheeechurrr Neeks!" Menggay squeaked when she noticed that Niko kept on yawning as the kids shared their stories during their show and tell activity.
"Yes?" Niko said as he tried to shake his sleepiness.
"Sleepy kaw?"
"A little. Teacher is tired."
"Bakit ikaw tired?"
"Kaia..."
"Why?" Rj asked. The children had been introduced to Kaia almost immediately after she came home from hospital.
"She wakes up in the middle of the night. I need to change her diaper and Teacher Punch feeds her..."
"Ah..."
"Babies are still learning about things so Kaia doesn't know about daytime and nighttime yet. She will sleep if she is tired and cry if she is hungry or wet..." Niko explained.
"Nasi-sing si Nanay sa akin pag na-cry ako..." Menggay offers.
"Really? Maybe..."
"Maybe you should sing to Baby Kaia also..." Rj suggested.
"Hmm...what do you think I should sing to her?"
"Baby Shark!" Menggay exclaimed. The other kids giggled.
"I don't think that will make Baby Kaia relax..." Rj says.
"...mada-dance sya!" Menggay suggested.
"She can't dance yet!" Rj said, smiling.
"Ah...mada-dance si Teacher Punch na carry nya si Kaia..." Menggay explained after a pause.
"Hmm...can be...but I think Teacher Nyx should sing something that will help Baby Kaia sleep..." Rj said.
"Ah...sising si Cheeechurrr Neeeks ng lalamay..."
"Lalamay?"
"Yun hmmm-hmmm (humming)...nakakaantot (antok) yun e"
"Ahh...lullaby..." Rj replies.
"Do you know what a lullaby is?" Niko asked while he reached for his guitar nearby. While engaging his students in conversation, Niko recalled that music can probably help soothe Baby Kaia. Niko started playing a tune. "A lullaby is soft music or song played to help babies and little kids relax and sleep". Then Niko played a song.
