"Mameee, is mokito?"

"What's that, baby?"

"Is mokito?" Kaia said as she noticed Riki's red and splotchy arm. They had been watching TV together while Kaia snacked on some caramel popcorn. Absent-mindedly, Riki ate a few pieces, too. Soon after, Riki started scratching a particular spot on her arm. Kaia soon noticed that Riki kept on scratching.

Although they were 'quarantined' in their home and limiting their outdoor activities, they kept the house generally clean and airy. After careful research and a lot of reading, Riki and Niko kept plants that helped clean the air as well as keep mosquitoes and bugs away. It was rare for anyone of them to get bitten by any insect so Riki wondered why she suddenly felt itchy.

Soon, small 'islands' of bumps appeared on her arm. She got some alcohol and applied this on her itchy skin. It relieved her a little but soon, some of the bumps seemed to connect to each other, forming a larger 'island'. Riki stood up and went to the bathroom. There, she noticed that her eyelids were also starting to swell. Riki immediately recognized what was happening – it was an allergic reaction. But she knew that if she panicked, Kaia would also become scared so she quickly returned to the room to snatch her phone from the bedside table and ran back to the bathroom before Kaia noticed anything (she was distracted with the program they were watching). Riki messaged Niko to come up to the bedroom immediately.

Riki searched for the medicines they kept for emergencies. She was aware of her being allergic to eggs so she avoided eating them. If she prepared dishes with egg, these were for Niko and Kaia. They never kept epinephrine in their first aid kit since they didn't think they would really need it. Besides, Riki hadn't had an allergic reaction for a long time.

Riki found some antihistamine tablets so she drank one and proceeded to shower to relieve her body from the itchy sensation. She also wanted to stay awake (although she was aware that the antihistamine would make her drowsy).

"Where's Mommy?" Niko said as soon as he entered the room.

"Thew...bafrum" Kaia pointed to the bathroom. "Dada, dus...dus pis..." Kaia said as Niko turned to go to the bathroom.

"Juice?"

"Dus"

"Okay, wait a while. I'll just talk to Mommy"

"Kaykay..." Kaia nodded and turned her attention back to her book. She was now busy looking at a book; away from where they were seated earlier by the foot of the bed in front of the TV.

"Punch?" Niko poked his head in the bathroom. He heard the shower running.

"...allergy..."

"Ano?"
