Riki looked at Kaia who was busily eating her breakfast, while she drank her coffee. After a few minutes, Kaia peers into her bowl. She holds it up and says, "Meee...Aya wan mor...morrr pisss..."
"Do you want some apples instead?" Riki offers. Kaia just finished a bowl of chocolate cereal.
"Polsss" Kaia nods.
Riki takes the bowl and adds a few pieces of fruit which Kaia happily eats.
"Don't forget to drink some water" Riki reminds her when Kaia glances at Riki, smiling while her cheeks are puffed out because her mouth is full of food. Kaia nods and picks up her sippy cup to drink.
"Done?"
Kaia puts up her hands and says, "Wasss". So Riki helps her out of her seat. Kaia clambers down and runs off to the bathroom to wash her hands. Kaia's independence was developing steadily thanks to the training of her parents. Although Kaia still had ways to go to become fully independent, she was a little more skilled than her peers.

Peeping from the kitchen, Riki saw that Kaia went out of the powder room and went to her corner to quietly play. Their mornings were usually like this; after returning from their morning walk, they had breakfast then go to their respective 'areas' to work. Riki and Kaia would stay in the living room where Riki had her work desk. Kaia also had her own desk and a toy shelf with her books and toys. At around 10:00am, Niko would take Kaia downstairs to the studio where she would join him for his online class. Because she was still rather young, Kaia participated in the movement and crafts activities. The rest of the time, Niko allowed her to play or just observe. During this time, Riki would be able to work in 'peace' without much distraction.
