My vision becomes blurry as I came in face-to-face with her. She was the first person that had come through my mind when I was asked whom I wanted to say something to right after it was revealed that I was the 2nd placer.
My heart pounds so hard at the sight of her and as my eyes meet her orbs that were glimmering with so much hope and anxiety, I realized how badly I'd want to stand beside her at this moment and to hold her hand to let her know that everything was going to be okay.
Without any hesitations, I bring the mic up to my mouth and I offer her a reassuring smile, "Chaeyeon, thank you so much for doing your best with me all along. I hope we can debut together."
My knees crazily tremble as I walk over to my spot right below Wonyoung's throne after my rank has been announced. I could care less though.
My heart was beating so fast that it was getting hard for me to breathe normally as I clasp my hands together, waiting for my dear friend's name to be called for the next rank.
Please let Chaeyeon debut!! Please!
I couldn't even think properly right now. I was going crazy!
Just please let my friend debut.
I kept mumbling a silent prayer to myself while the audience continuously erupts in loud cheers for the participants that they were rooting for. I didn't want to stop praying until I hear her name.
I normally don't get too attached to people I've only met for a short time. When I crossed paths with Lee Chaeyeon, I felt a new set of emotions that I have never felt before. We sorta just clicked and before I even realized it, I was already sharing the same dream as hers.
I didn't care much about my dream anymore because to me, what mattered the most was for her to finally debut - for her to reach something that she's been longing for such a long time.
I saw how hard she worked and how dedicated she was in everything she does. She's really amazing.
I'd never thought sitting on a throne would actually feel uncomfortable. I keep twisting and turning on my seat as the 4 potential participants have finally been shown. I didn't even notice I was zoning out the whole time, because at this point, we were almost getting to the final reveal. My breath hitches for this incredibly nerve-wracking moment.
"The 12th and final member who will join IZ*ONE, the global girl group, is Lee Chaeyeon from WM Entertainment."
"Please take your position in the 12th place seat."
I heard her name being called for the 12th rank.
For the freaking lineup of IZ*ONE!!
I was going insane that Nako, one of my friends and teammates back in Japan even had to check up on me to see if I was okay.
I was bawling my eyes out of pure joy.
Not only because I'll be making my debut, but also because Chaeyeon will be with me.
Thank God, I definitely couldn't ask for more.

After the program, I quickly run towards her with the widest smile I can possibly flash.

"We made it." I gush, throwing myself into her arms that were anticipating my body.
"I know, Saku-chan. You have no idea how happy I am." She replies with a shaky breath, tightly wrapping her arms around me. "Thank you for believing in me."
"I'm so proud of you."
"Thank you, Saku-chan."
Suddenly, a loud voice joins our peaceful moment together. "HEY I WANNA JOIN TOO!"
Guess who?
Choi Yena runs towards the both of us like a child, crushing Chaeyeon and I into a very tight hug.
"Ya! I like hugs too!" Yujin exclaims, joining the 3 of us as well.
I bury my face deeper into her shoulder, inhaling some of the cologne that she was wearing while smiling in satisfaction.
