"Gwen, Gwen wake up," John whispered in Gwen's ear stirring her awake. Gwen peaked through her eyes barely seeing light coming through the window.
"Go awayyyyyyy," Gwen mumbled. She threw the blankets over her head and buried here face in the pillow. " The fucking sun isn't even out John." The sun was peaking through the windows but she wanted an excuse to sleep longer.
"Up you go," John chuckled. He grabbed her by the feet and drug her out of the bed and onto the floor.
"John, WHAT THE FUCK!" John smiled big, that crooked smile that made her heart melt instantly. Which meant he was instantly forgiven.
"What? Tommy said we got a couple errands to run, I asked if you could come and he said yes."
"You want me to come...on an errand? Isn't that "Peaky" business only?" Gwen asked curiously. Standing up off the floor. "What about the kids John? They are still asleep we cant just leave em here"
"Obviously its not too important love or Tommy wouldn't be letting you come, now come on we leave soon," John said throwing her suitcase on the bed. "Poll has someone coming to sit with the kids."
"When?" Gwen asked, " I need to shower and do something with this mop on top of me head."
"You got 5 minutes Gwen, just wear a hat."
John Shelby....he was gonna be the death of her.

The ride wasn't long out of town. Gwen was excited. She mostly rode horses and the trains so getting to ride in the car with the boys was a real treat. Arthur and Tommy sat up front and she sat in the back with Finn and John. Plus the fresh air of the countryside was always a nice relief from the smog of Small Heath.
"I thought you said we were going to the fair," Arthur huffed out. Tommy pulled up onto a couple caravans.
"We have business first," Tommy smirked. "Come on bring your wits." Tommy got out of the car.
"What business?" Arthur asked.
"That's the Lee family," John said jumping out of the back.
"John, I feel its best I stay here," Gwen sighed. She sensed trouble and she was usually right about her instincts.
"Are you sure love? Tommy said no funny business in front of the lady today and hes a man of his word," John smiled rubbing Gwen's hand. She looked up smiling at him. "I felt like it would be nice to get you out of Small Heath. Surprise."
"Oh, John Shelby. Aren't you a charmer? I will stand in front of the car I guess," Gwen smiled. John took her hand, helping her out of the car.
"TOMMY!"
"Johnny Dogs..." Tommy smiled walking up to the man. Gwen had always heard nothing but good things about Johnny Dogs. He was a loyal man and a hard worker.
"Tommy, how the hell are ya?" Johnny asked shaking Tommy's hand.
"All the better for getting the city smoke out of me lungs," Tommy replied. Gwen chuckled. The break from the smoke had already made her feel like a new woman.
"I thought you became a bit too grand for us, Tom."
"I been busy," Tommy said lighting a cigarette. John and Arthur walking closely behind them. John turned and smiled at Gwen.
"I been riding with the Lee family now Tom."
"I heard. Myself, I would rather live among pigs." The Lees were notorious for there gypsy ways and causing fights at several pubs.
