Chapter 12: 12

Silence.

Absolute silence.

Tony was my son?

How did he know I could save the future?

What does it hold now that time has changed?

So many questions run through my mind as I get up. People are helping each other up. Just then General Reginald comes in with a batch of armed personnel.

"How many casualties?" He asks one of the scientists.

"10, we lost the shard and Tony, our worst fear has just happened sir." She replies. He said that time has changed sir.

"That is a problem, we are in a lot of trouble now, we have to speed up the process of training all of you." He says turning to me then walks out.

The training for the day is cut short and everyone sent back to their rooms. My team comes to join me in mine

"What happened Charles?" Miriam asks as they come in.

"I have a lot I don't understand guys, Tony called me Dad as he vanished." I reply.

"What!!!" They say unanimously.

"You've got a lot of explaining to do Charles, what are you hiding from us?" Rosita replies.

"Nothing matters anymore, the future Tony, my son came from has changed, the shard opened a black hole which took him back to the future which means something has changed there, but it all doesn't make any sense. Why hasn't the present changed?"

"What if it didn't?, What if something triggered the shard to react the way it did?". Ayodele replies.

"He told me that another shard existed here on earth. Which means there could be more. He also told me that my Nanote had the answer." I add.

"Vich reminds me Charles, How did you operate your Nanote like zat?". Vladimir asks.

"You have to become one with your Nanote, let it flow like it's an extension of your body, then with a thought it will become any form you want it to take." I reply.

They all look at me in amusement. Then I summon my Nanote and it materialized around my body.

"Touch this button and your personal A.I will reveal itself." I tell them. "Right now I need some rest guys."

But I know I have questions for NS7.

When they leave I ask NS7 questions.

"What did Tony mean, do you know anything about the earth shard?"

"There are more than one shard but 12 in total sir, scattered all around the universe and over many millennia different races have searched for it. Any being who has all 12 becomes the most powerful being in the entire universe".

"How many are actually here on earth?".

"Only one, the aliens that attack from Tony's timeline have one on their planet too, with the other ten scattered all over our galaxy".

"Who is the insect man?"

"A liviaran from the planet Livia, he is the leader of an entire armies consisting of beings from all the planets he has conquered over the years, he seeks to acquire all 12 shards to be able to rule the universe".

"Who else knows this information?"

"Just you, me and Tony sir".

"And me". A voice comes from outside my room as the door opens, I see Khalid standing by the doorway.

"We're now telepathically linked Charles". He says. "Tony is not dead".
