"Annnnnnt," Jasmine called once again that day.
"Can't make it any less hot outside Jas," he responded from downstairs.
She groaned, sitting up and going downstairs, cradling her bump.
"It's too hot," she complained to him.
"I feel fine," he teased, continuing to work on lunch.
"Haha, very funny," she responded. "Well, you're not the one who's 8 1/2 months pregnant. Tell your daughter to stop making me hot."
"Dunno if she'll listen, but I'll give it a try," he told her, kneeling down in front of her stomach.
"Hey little one," he started. "So Mama and I are both very glad that you're growing and that you're healthy, but it's making Mama uncomfortable. Keep growing cause I love that, but maybe calm down on the war against Mama."
Jasmine laughed, feeling kicks against her stomach. "She's listening definitely, but I don't know if she'll follow through."
Anthony smiled, kissing her stomach and standing. "Why don't you try taking a cold bath?" he suggested. "That might help."
Jasmine tilted her head, considering it. "That's actually a good idea," she said. "Thank you Ant." She kissed his cheek and went back upstairs.
A few hours, she was back in bed feeling miserable again. She sighed, pushing herself up and going into their home studio where Anthony was.
"The cold bath worked for a little bit, but I'm hot again," she told him, setting a hand on his shoulder.
"Want me to dump a bucket of ice water on you?" he asked.
"If you do that, I will literally lock you out," she responded.
He laughed and continued writing.
"What's this song about?" she asked.
"You an' bubba," he told her.
Jasmine felt her entire mood soften and she said, "Oh baby, that's so sweet." She moved to sit on his lap and he rested his hand on her back. They sat in comfortable silence for a while before she got back up, mumbling about how she was too hot again.
"Get an ice pack and put it on your forehead," he told her, kissing the back of her hand. "Try to rest too Jas. Stressing yourself out isn't good for you or bubba."
She smiled, gently squeezing his hand. "Thank you Ant," she responded.
She went to get the ice pack and back to their room, laying down and placing the ice pack on her forehead. She promptly fell asleep, waking up hours later when she felt Anthony gently kissing her forehead.
"Hey Jazzy," he whispered softly. "It's time for dinner.
"You made dinner?" she asked and he nodded. "'M surprised I woke up to you an' not the fire alarm."
"Ha ha very funny," he responded. "Yes I made dinner. C'mon downstairs love." He placed his hand on her back, helping her sit up.
"I'm still hot y'know," she told him, sitting at dinner.
"Can I dump ice water on you now?" he asked, seeming eager.
