Star crawled into Jasmine's lap, snuggling up to her. Jasmine wrapped her arms around Star, gently rocking her back and forth. Anthony was finishing up clearing the table and watching the two of them.

"Mama, why do you have two rings but Papa only has one?" Star asked, looking up at Jasmine.

"Well, this one's my engagement ring and this one is my wedding band," Jasmine explained, pointing at each one. "A few years before you were born, Papa got down on one knee in front of our family and friends and asked me to marry him. This was the ring he gave me. A couple years later when we got married we gave each other these rings as a promise to love each other forever."

"Forever and ever?" Star said, sitting up. "That's a long time."

"Forever and a day, that's what we like to say," Jasmine told her.

"I like your engagement ring, it's pretty," Star said. "I wish I had a pretty ring like it."

Anthony looked up when she said that, an idea already popping into his head.

"Well, I'm sure someday someone will give you a pretty ring and promise to love you forever," Jasmine responded. "But Papa and I promise to always love you forever."

She pressed kisses to her face, making laughter bubble out of her.

Later that night, Jasmine came into their bedroom after putting Star to bed and saw Anthony on his phone.

"What're you looking at?" She asked, getting in bed next to him.

He showed her his screen which had a shopping website with promise rings on it.

"Promise rings?" she said, confused.

"I'm gonna get one for Star," he told her. "So she can have a pretty ring like yours."

Jasmine felt her heart swell and she tucked herself into his side. "That's so sweet baby," she said. "She's gonna love that."

"What about pink rhinestone with a gold band?" he asked, showing her the small ring.

"It looks beautiful," she responded, kissing him before laying down to go to sleep.

The ring came in a few days later and Anthony planned to give it to her that night after dinner. It was in a small white box, similar to the one Jasmine's engagement ring was in.

Anthony kept it in his pocket all throughout dinner, feeling nervous for reasons he didn't understand. He knew she would love it, but it still made him nervous to think about giving it to her.

After dinner Anthony said to her, "Alright I have a surprise for you, go sit with Mama."

Star immediately got in Jasmine's lap, the same spot where they had the conversation a few days ago.

Anthony sat down next to them. "So, I was thinking about the conversation you and Mama had a few nights ago, about her engagement ring," he said, pulling out the box. "You said that you wanted a pretty ring like Mama's, so I got you a ring to promise that you don't have to wait for someone because I will always love you."

He opened it, revealing the small ring. Star gasped, looking at the ring, then to him.

"Papa, it's so pretty!" she exclaimed.

"Thank you honey," he responded, taking her hand and sliding the ring on her finger.

She jumped up, throwing her arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.

"Thank you Papa," she said. "I love you."

Anthony felt tears well up and he hugged her back. "I love you too princesa," he said, trying to keep his voice from sounding shaky.

Star let go, turning and holding out her hand for Jasmine to see. "Now we match Mama!" she exclaimed, the biggest smile on her face.

"That's right, we do!" Jasmine said.

Star sat down on her father's lap, still examining the ring. Anthony extended his arm, pulling Jasmine into his side. He kissed her forehead, mumbling quietly, "I love you."

"I love you too."
