Jasmine felt Anthony gently rubbing her back to wake her up, but her eyes were still heavy. She mumbled something incoherent and buried her face in his neck. Her sleep schedule was still off after coming home and she just wanted to sleep.
"Hi baby," he said, hoping to wake her up.
"Mm," she responded, snuggling closer to him.
He laughed as she shifted slightly and peppered her face with kisses. He rubbed her back and nudged his nose against hers.
"Ant," she said groggily, tapping his shoulder.
"What is it baby?" he asked.
"It's early in the morning, jus' lemme sleep," she mumbled.
"I wanna watch the sunrise with you," he told her.
"Baby, I jus' got back from Louisiana an' I'm tired so just lemme sleep for a little bit," she responded.
"Alright fine," he said, wrapping his arms around her tighter. He shifted to lay on his back and Jasmine draped himself over his chest. Anthony turned to look out the window and smiled when he saw the sun was rising.
"Baby, can I ask you one thing and then I won't bother you for the rest of the morning?" he whispered to her.
"What is it?" she mumbled, sounding annoyed by him.
"Can we go out to the roof to watch the sunrise?" he asked.
She opened her eyes halfway and glared at him as best she could. "I'm not moving out of this bed," she said.
"Then I'll carry you," he said, pulling her into his lap and standing.
She yawned and tucked herself closer to him. He carried her out to the roof and sat down. Jasmine leaned against his chest, closing her eyes again. He wrapped his arms around her, leaning down to kiss the top of her head. He smiled at her and pulled his phone out to take a quick picture of the two of them.
"The sunrise looks so pretty," he mumbled.
"I wouldn't know," she responded.
He chuckled, looking down at her and noticed that she was half asleep against him. She was still shifting back to a normal sleep schedule and the fact that the day was longer made it harder for her to sleep longer.
"Baby?" she mumbled, a few minutes later.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Can we go back inside now?" she said.
"Love, the sunrise just started, it's not gonna be up for a few more minutes," he told her.
She sighed, turning and snuggling up to her. She wrapped her legs around his waist and tucked her head against his neck.
"You okay baby?" he asked, chuckling.
"I wan' be closer to you and the sun 's in my eyes," she responded.
He felt his heart swell a bit and pressed soft kisses to her neck, holding her closer. She fell asleep again and her continued rubbing her back until the sun had fully rose. Once it was done, he stood and carried her back inside.
He laid her back down in bed and pressed a kiss to her forehead, turning to go get them breakfast. She tugged on his hand and mumbled, "Stay with me."
He laughed, getting back in bed and pulling her against him. She snuggled back up against him and he rubbed her back.
"How much longer you wanna sleep?" he asked.
"Forever," she responded and he laughed.
"Okay, I'll wake you up when I have to leave," he told her.
She hummed in response and he traced gentle patterns on her back to help her fall asleep again. He was content to hold her for the rest of the morning, even if he had to leave later, just to help her be more comfortable.
