Jasmine was curled up on the bed, her hand resting on her bump and working on her latest song. She was alone in the house while Anthony was at the studio recording his latest album. She felt her daughters little kicks against her hand and smiled, brushing her thumb over her stomach.
The silence was interrupted by her phone ringing and she picked it up, confused when she saw it was Will. "Hey, what's up?" she asked when she answered.
"Hey Jas, Ant passed out. He's awake now, but I think you need to come get him" he said quickly.
Jasmine immediately sat up, knocking her notebook off her lap. "What?"
"He said he was feeling lightheaded so I told him to lay down, but he passed out. He's awake now and he's feeling better, but I think he needs to go home and I'm pretty sure he can't drive," he explained.
"Okay, I'm on my way," she responded, getting up and slipping her shoes on. She was extremely nervous on the way over, praying that he was okay.
As soon as she got to the studio, she hurried into the room Will told her they were in. Anthony was laying on a couch with Will sitting on the floor next to him.
"Oh good, you're here," he said, standing and moving so she could sit next to the couch.
Jasmine brushed her thumb over his cheek, kissing his forehead and said, "Ant, wake up, I'm here."
His eyes slowly opened and he smiled when he saw her. "Hi baby girl," he whispered.
"Hey Ant," she responded. "How're you feeling bub?"
"Tired, still a bit lightheaded, and my head hurts," he told her.
"I'm gonna take you home, okay," she said. "You're overworked and you need to rest."
"Okay," he mumbled. Jasmine was a little surprised, expecting him to put up a little bit of a fight, but she supposed he was too exhausted to. She took his hand to help him up, but he shook his head.
"I don't want something to happen to bubba," he said. "Let Will help me."
Jasmine hesitated for a minute, before nodding and gathering his things. Will helped Anthony stand and walk out to the car.
"Feel better bro," Will said. "Don't overwhelm yourself either Jas."
"I promise I won't," she responded, getting in the car. "Thanks for calling."
Anthony kept his eyes closed for the majority of the ride and his hand linked with Jasmine's. When they got home, Anthony stared at the flight of stairs ahead of him and let out an exhausted sigh. Jasmine rubbed his back, kissing the back of his hand.
"I've got you Ant," she said. They slowly went up the stairs, pausing a couple times so he could rest. He finally laid down on their bed and Jasmine kissed his forehead, brushing her thumb over his cheek.
"I'm gonna get you something to eat Ant," she told him, going downstairs.
When she was down in the kitchen, she felt her daughters kicks starting again. She laughed quietly, placing her hand on her stomach.
"I'll take care of you in a minute bubba," she said. "We gotta make sure Papa feels better first."
She took the food and water upstairs where Ant was almost half asleep.
"Eat first Ant," she said, sitting in bed next to him. He sat up, groaning and placing his hand on his forehead.
"I know your head still hurts," she said, snuggling up next to him. "Eat and drink and then we can rest."
He nodded, kissing her forehead. He moved his hand to rest on her bump and she smiled.
When he had finished eating, she placed the plate on the nightstand and they curled up together.
Anthony rested his hand on her bump, tracing gentle patterns on it. Jasmine rested her hand just below his, cupping his cheek with her other hand.
"She's been pretty active today," she whispered, noticing his small smile at feeling the kicks.
"I jus' wanna make sure you two are okay," he mumbled. "I don't want you getting too stressed out."
"We're okay Ant," she responded. "I want to make sure you're okay too."
He nodded, pressing gentle kisses to her lips. "We should rest now," he said.
"Yeah," she whispered. "Feel better baby."
He hummed in response, closing his eyes. Jasmine waited until he was fast asleep, then placed another kiss to his forehead and closed her eyes.
Anthony woke up a few hours later, sitting up and noticing that Jasmine was still asleep. He decided to let her rest, knowing that she was probably still exhausted from today and that pregnancy was starting to take a toll on her. He woke her up when he felt their daughters movements getting more frequent.
"Hi," she whispered, smiling at him. "How're you feeling?"
"Better," he responded. "You were right. Food and a nap did help."
"That's good," she mumbled. "You're staying home tomorrow too."
"I'll be better tomorrow Jas," he said. "I can go in."
She shook her head, placing her hand on top of his. "I'm not letting you overwork yourself again. She needs you to be at your best and you know that you're not setting a good example if you overwork yourself when she gets here," she told him.
He sighed, nodding and laying back down next to her. He traced gentle patterns on her bump and gently kissed her cheek. "Thanks for taking care of me," he mumbled.
"Of course bub," she responded. "I know you'd take care of me."
He nodded, snuggling closer to her. "I love you two," he said.
"We love you back," she whispered, kissing him.
