Anthony woke up to sun and the empty space in the bed next to him. Her singing filtered into his head and he knew from the barely warm space next to her that she had been up for a while. He got up, running a hand through his hair and going downstairs.

The sight that greeted him immediately made his smile grow. She was in his sweatshirt, singing as she was cooking. He wrapped his arms around her, kissing her cheek.

"Good morning baby girl," he said and she laughed. "Why're you up so early? You feelin' okay?"

"I'm okay," she responded. "Mornin' sickness just kicks my ass some mornings and I can't just fall back asleep those mornings."

"You sure you're okay?" he asked, feeling a bit concerned.

"I'm okay," she said, turning and wrapping her arm around his neck. "Besides, morning sickness is a sign that they're progressing healthily."

"Alright, as long as you feel okay," he mumbled, kissing her lips gently. "And as long as baby is okay too. Breakfast looks amazing too."

"I made pancakes," she said, flipping the last one and putting it on the plate with all the other ones.

"They look amazing," he said, kissing her. "What time is your appointment again?"

"3'o clock," she told him. "Remember we planned to go the the studio beforehand?"

"Mhm, I remember," he said, kissing her again and placing her hand on his stomach.

They ate breakfast and got ready, heading out to the studio. Anthony was working on his next album and this time it would feature a duet with Jasmine. As soon as she had told him she was pregnant, they immediately knew they wanted to write about their baby.

They worked on a few of his songs before moving onto the duet and Will said, "Alright everyone prepare for the lovebirds to take over." They all laughed but he soon proved to be right, the two of them getting caught in their own little bubble.

The time seemed to fly by and Anthony checked his phone, realizing it was already 2:30. "Oh baby, we gotta go, we have our appointment in half an hour."

"Oh right," Jasmine said. They got up, saying goodbye to everyone and walking out to the car, Jasmine noticing the giddiness on his face.

"You ready darling?" she asked.

"I dunno," he mumbled. "I can't wait to finally see them, but I also don't know how I'm gonna react."

Her smile grew and she picked his hand up, kissing the back of it. "I promise you I'm probably gonna react the same way. We can both be emotional messes together," she said.

He laughed, leaning over and kissing her. "Alright, let's go be emotional messes together," he mumbled, starting the car.

She immediately saw him get flustered again once they got to the building and ushered into the room. He was looking around, his eyes mostly landing on the ultrasound machine.

"Darling, come here," she said, reaching her hand out to him.

He took her hand, sitting down next to the bed. "'M just nervous," he told her. "This has just never happened before an' I don't really know how to process it."

"Me neither baby," she said, squeezing his hand. "But remember what I said in the car? We can be emotional messes together."

He nodded, leaning over and kissing her forehead. Her doctor came in and they both looked up. "Jasmine! Nice to see you again! Is this your husband?" she asked.

"Yeah, this is Anthony," she responded and he stood up, both of them introducing themselves.

"How're you doing?" she asked, setting up the machine. "Anything feeling abnormal?"

"Morning sickness is kicking my ass some mornings, but other than that everything feels fine," Jasmine told her.

"Well that's okay, morning sickness is a sign that they're developing properly," she said. "You ready to see them?"

Jasmine nodded and Anthony squeezed her hand, feeling more nervous that he had in a long time. Her doctor switched the monitor on and waved the wand around, the blurry video popping up on screen.

Anthony's jaw immediately dropped and he felt himself getting emotional. Jasmine glanced over at him, smiling when she saw his face. He was in complete awe, staring at the monitor.

"So you're at 9 weeks now and it looks like your baby is developing properly. You can see the head right there. I'm working on detecting a heartbeat but if we can't hear one that's okay. It probably just means they're hiding in the corner or their back is turned to us," she told them.

Anthony felt tears well up in his eyes and he kissed the back of her hand, staring at the monitor again.

She continued waving the wand around and all of a sudden, they heard the heartbeat. It filled the room and Jasmine's jaw dropped as well.

"Oh my god," Anthony mumbled, tears starting to fall down his face. "Jas that's our baby."

"Yeah..." she responded softly, feeling her own tears start to fall.

Anthony closed his eyes, letting the sound of the heartbeat fill his head. Jasmine turned to him, brushing his tears away. He opened his eyes, smiling at her and pressing a long kiss to her forehead.

"I'm guessing you two will want pictures," her doctor said, smiling at the two of them.

"Oh yes," Jasmine said, still staring at the monitor.

"Alright, I'll go get these developed," she told them, shutting off the monitor and leaving the room.

Jasmine still saw Anthony's giddiness on his face and she cupped his chin, pulling him into a soft kiss. "You okay?" she asked.

"Well, I just got to see our baby and hear their heartbeat for the first time so I'm gonna say no," he responded, causing her to laugh. "I really don't wanna wait another 7 months to meet them."

"Me neither darling," she responded. "But it'll be worth it in the end."

He smiled, kissing the back of her hand. The door opened and her doctor came back in, handing them the pictures. Jasmine sat up, staring at the little figure on the pictures.

"Alright, seeing as nothing abnormal showed up, you're free to go. You can schedule an appointment for next month which is when you'll be around 13 or 14 weeks along, but if anything unusual starts to happen you can come in," she told them.

Jasmine nodded, both of them thanking her and going out to the front desk. She set up another appointment and they went out to their car, both of them feeling giddy.

As soon as they got home, Jasmine put the pictures up on the fridge. Anthony came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist, his hands immediately going to her stomach.

"That's our little baby," she said, leaning her head against his shoulder.

He smiled, pressing soft kisses to her neck. "God, I love you," he mumbled.

"I love you too," she responded, tilting her and cupping his cheek, softly kissing him.

"How much longer until we get to see them again?" he asked.

She laughed and turned to face him, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Another month baby," she responded.

"I don't wanna wait that long," he mumbled.

She laughed, hugging him tightly and kissing his cheek. "Me neither, but it's gonna seem shorter than you think," she said.

He rubbed her back, looking up at the sonogram again. "I can't wait to meet you little one," he whispered.
