I told you my life story.
I hoped you wouldn't hurt me.
I craved love and affection.
You gave me so much attention.

I thought you were the one
Who could help me heal my heart.
You told me that you loved me
And all I could do is believe.

Until...

You changed.
Spending more time with your friends.
I wasn't a priority unless you wanted sex.

I was still vulnerable.
And I hoped that you would change.
Until the day you cheated and broke up with me.

I shouldn't have believed that you were my Prince
That would wake me from slumber filled with pain.
Instead you were the evil man
Who would add onto my life of hurt.

But then I have learned.
I should be more careful with my heart.
Protect it from falling apart
In the hands of people like you.
