It was a gloomy, rainy night. Peggy and Daniel both finishing paperwork at the office. It was just before midnight when Daniel came out of his office.
"You ready to go, Pegs?" He said, coat in hand.
"Almost...Done!"Peggy said looking up at her boyfriend "Let's go" She said standing up and picking up her bag. They exited the building, hand in hand until they had to use them to shield themselves from the pouring rain. Once seating themselves in Daniel's car, they threw their heads back in laughter as the saw how wet they both were. They took off as they laughed and spoke about their day.
"Vega said I shouldn't be in the task force for the Ansley murder" Peggy said with her arms crossed, not mentioning the fact that she punched him in the jaw.
"That jerk!" Daniel hit the wheel of his car "They wouldn't be anywhere in that case if it weren't for you! Oh I'm gonna kill Vega" He growled. Peggy couldn't help but laugh " What?" Daniel said
"You're so cute when you get angry" The brunet stroked her boyfriends hair out of his eyes
"No I'm not" Daniel protested with a smile. They joked all the way home with the sound of the raindrops on the car.
Once home, they were at least 10x more soaked than before. Once they were dressed and dry, they got into bed. Peggy had her knees to her chest and her head resting on Daniels shoulder. The chief placed his arms around his pride and joy.
"Goodnight Danny" Peggy stroked the back of his hand with her thumb. He kissed her head and squeezed her hand. They drifted to sleep in each other's embrace, as happy as could be.
