The Night stone (The late night crew)

Demise

They headed to Telikos cave. It wasn't that far and it wasn't too far from a human populated town called Galewind. It took a day by horse to get there.
"Well, here it is." Jund said.
"Let's find that stone." Russ said before walking into the dark cave.
Cry had an odd feeling before heading into the cave. He acknowledged it for a moment, but he merely dismissed it as nervousness.
The cave was actually really large, it took an hour to search through. The 6 of them walked into a large room with torches spread along the wall. There were some people at the end. As they walked down they saw the one person they would have asked to not see.

Prince Zak.

He stood there while holding a treasure chest. Two guards stood by his side. Zak slowly turned around as he heard footsteps.
"Ah, it's you imbeciles." Zak said quietly, but angrily as well.
None of them spoke.
"Not going to speak? Very well. Do you know what's in this chest..."
Russ realized what had to be in there
"The Night Stone..." Russ said in awe.
"Correct, Russ. Have you also come to kill me? I heard all about this pledge you made with my sister. She is all talk, and when she needs something done she sweet talks others to get it done for her. She is weak-"
"She is a better ruler than you would ever be!" Cry yelled out. His eyes widened as he realized he said that out loud.
"You are wrong, Cryaotic."
Cry shivered as the Dark Prince said his name.
Zak pulled out his enchanted sword, Plaugebringer, and pointed it at the adventurers.
"Attack." Zak ordered his guards.

They were confident that they could kill the 2 guards easily. But that quickly changed. The guards transformed into giant serpents. The giant snakes hissed at the 6 of them.
"Shit." Ziegs muttered to herself.
Ziegs and Snake took the first serpent. Russ, Cry, Cheyenne, and Jund took the second one.

Snake shot arrows at the large creature who has his namesake. The serpent quickly slithered towards Snake and grabbed him by its tail. As Snake was being constricted Ziegs ran behind the Serpent and slashed at it. The giant snake hissed with pain and let Snake go.
Before Snake could say anything the serpent tried to bite Ziegs with its large choppers. Snake quickly shot and arrows at its head. One went right through its eye and the others went through the left side of its head. The serpent died from blood loss.

Cry, Cheyenne, and Russ were fighting the other snake up close. Jund was shooting spells at it from far away. The serpent tried to fight the 3 of them at the same time, but they constantly moved which confused it. Scott launched a fire spell which ended up killing it.

"Hmm... I am a hypocrite aren't I? I said that my sister would always have people do things for her and I sent these snakes to kill you for me. I am sorry. I guess I'll have to kill you myself."
Zak placed a large ward of dark energy around him which caused a thin purple cloud of smoke to appear in front of him.
"That energy cloud will make him stronger as long as he's in it. Try to lure him out of it." Jund said as quietly as he could to the others.
"You know I could hear you." Zak said.
Jund's face was pink from embarrassment. "Urk...." He said in surprise.

Russ decided to run in first. He held out his hammer and ran to Zak. Just as he was about to smash him Zak quickly sidestepped causing Russ to trip and fall on the ground.
Cheyenne and Cry went together. Zak sidestepped Cry and parried Cheyenne. Cheyenne tried another attack, but Zak slashed at her arm.
Snake shot an arrow of him, but Zak deflected it.
Ziegs thrusted her rapier. Zak parried it.
Russ ran up behind Zak had tried to hit the Dark Prince with his hammer, but Zak grabbed Russ' hammer and threw it on the ground.
Jund was attempting to remove the ward as the the others fought so they can gain an advantage.
But Zak quickly caught on to his plan. The Dark Prince pushed the other 5 against the cave walls as he pulled Jund closer to him.

Zak held Jund by his shirt, Plaugebringer's sharp edge was placed on his chest.
"Do not tamper with my magic!" Zak yelled.
Junds eyes widened with fear.
"Please, don't-"
Jund was interrupted with Plaugebringer's being thrusted through his body. It struck him right at the heart, too.
"Jund!" Snake yelled in shock while being stuck to a wall.
With a small groan Jund fell to the floor. Blood started pouring from his chest.
