"Why do you worry about getting in?" Cry asked.
"Well," Jund started "yesterday day when I left the tavern to uh... Wash up, I decided to go look for the mine myself. When I got there there were two guards stationed at the entrance."
"We'll see what we can do." Cheyenne said.
Cry, Cheyenne, Jund, and Snake left the inn and headed to the mine, Jund leading the way. It was indeed guarded by 2 guards. Both of them were dwarves.
"Excuse us sirs." Cry said.
"Aye. What is it?" The guard on the left asked.
"Can we by chance get in there?"
"No. I'm sorry, but there have been sightings, you see of... Ghosts."
"Ghosts?" Cheyenne asked.
"Yes. About 15 years ago there were workers down here, and some of them even brought their kids with them that day. Well, the walls started caving in on them selves and they all perished. The cave was cleaned out but people swore they heard moans and whispers coming from in the cave. One man even said that he saw a ghost himself."
"Around town there have been sightings of spirits too," he continued "and so we closed down this mine to prevent any more ghosts to get loose, or people to get hurt."
"Oh. So we can't get in there?" Cry asked again.
"I'm afraid not."

"What are we going to do?" Cry asked the others. They had moved away from the mine shafts and into town again. There was a lot of rituals and celebrations going on because of Drakilfest and so they were watching them.
"I don't know." Snake replied.
"I can use magic." Jund said.
"How?" Cry asked Scott.
"I can turn us invisible." He said.
"Why have we never used this before?" Cheyenne asked him.
"It takes a lot of energy. Even for as good as a mage as I am."
"Well. Let's try it." Cry said.
Jund flicked his hands and said "Ştyl tryt." Which nobody knew what that meant, but Cheyenne knew it was an old language used to amplify magic.
The 4 of them turned invisible.
"Where are you guys?" Cry asked.
"We are near each other." Jund said. "Just go to the mine far enough so the guards can't see us."
They all snuck towards the mine On the way there Cry accidentally stepped on Snake's foot, but luckily he didn't say anything. They made their way into the mine silently and once they got far enough Jund turned off the spell with the words "Hʼaltn ştylqyyat."
They all came to vision in front of each other.
"It's kind of dark in here. Can you make one of those light orbs, Jund?" Cry asked.
"No," Scott said wearily "I don't think I can. That spell tired me out."
"We'll just walk in the dark then." Cry said.
The 4 of them walked through the dark mine, Jund lingered a bit behind because he was tired.
Just when Scott was about to ask for a resting break a voice echoed in the cave. It sounded like it belonged to a little girl because it was high pitched
"Mommy... I want my mommy."
"One of us didn't say that." Cry pointed out.
"No. It was Snake." Jund said sarcastically, referring to Snake's naturally deep voice.
Then a light appeared in front of the 4. It was a spirit of a little girl that appeared to be about 9 or 10.

"Please. Get me to my mother. She lives here in town and her name is Angela."
"Aww. We should help her." Cry said.
"It could be a trap." Cheyenne pointed out.
"Please! It's not a trap! I can give you something if you bring me to her."
The ghost girl pulled out a compass from one of her pockets.
"A compass?" Jund asked.
"It's not an ordinary compass," She explained "This compass will lead you to anywhere you wish to go to. I'll think of... Anviltide, and see?" The dial on the compass pointed northeast.
"That is where Anviltide is." Cheyenne confirmed.
"Something like that would be pretty useful." Snake said.
"I guess we can help her." Jund sighed.

...........

Jund used his invisibility spell again to get the 4 of them and the ghost girl out of the cave undetected. They went to the town and Jund took off the spell.
"Wait... Can't they see you?" Jund asked the ghost girl after the invisibility spell came off.
"No. I can change at will the people who can or can't see me." The ghost responded.
"Interesting."
The ghost girl pointed to where her mothers house is. They knocked on the door. The door opened and a human woman in her 40's stood in the doorway.
"Who might you people be?" She asked.
"Mom?" The ghost girl said while walking up to her mother.
"Nadia?" Her mothers voice shook in disbelief.
"I finally found you, mother!"
The reunion was sweet, but something was happening to the ghost. She started glowing brightly.
"I'm passing on to the next world. Thanks you guys, here." Nadia thanked them and handed Jund the compass.
"My child, please don't go! I just saw you again after 15 years!" Her mother cried.
"You have to let go of the past, mother." Nadia said. Then her spirit faded away.
She had moved on.
The 4 adventurers stood there in surprise. None of them had seen something like this.
"You guys brought her here?" The mother asked while wiping her tears.
"Yeah. She promised us this compass if we brought her to you." Jund responded, showing her the compass.
"You may come inside the house."

"No, I'm afraid there isn't a stone like that in that cave. I've checked there myself a few times." Angela told them. Jund sighed at the news.
"By the way, what are your names?" She asked.
"I'm Cheyenne."
"I'm Cryaotic, but you can call me Cry."
"Scott Jund."
"Snake."
"And mine is Angela." She said, which they already knew. "What you did today was life changing for me. You could say it was a Christmas, or Drakilfest, miracle."
"Well, it was the least we could do." Snake said.
"Yeah. It was sad seeing her want her mother so badly." Cry added.
"Well, I am sad to see her go so quickly, but I am glad she passed on to the next world. You see, her father brought her in there on the day of the incident to show her the recently found diamonds. The mine fell in on itself and they both died." Angela said.

They chatted for a while. They told her about their journey for the Night Stone and their friends sick at the inn. And she told them about things she used to like to do with Nadia.
"Well, I think you guys should go back to the inn. It's getting late and your friends probably want to talk to you again."
"It was nice talking with you." Cry said.
"You were a pleasure to have here, Cry." She complimented him. "Farewell you all!" She told them as they left
"Goodbye!" They all said back to her.
