"Levi, what the hell! You could've killed him!" Eren snapped, ducking his head from the only camera in the room.

"But I didn't." Levi retorted, picking up the phone and calling the front desk. In a fake worried tone, he spluttered out, "Hello, there's been an accident at the library. The librarian just called nine-one-one."

There was a small mumble before Levi answered, "I'm not sure how it happened, but a bookcase fell on a student—Jean Kirstein. I think his ribs broke. H-He's bleeding. His friends are okay."

Another question murmured through.

"Levi Ackerman. And my friend, Eren Yeager, is here with me."

Eren tapped his foot impatiently as Levi answered a few more questions. 'Levi attempted murder' was all he could think about in that moment. He wasn't fond of the horse face, but he was raised were violence was never the answer. At least, that was his mother's moral.

Once Levi ended the call, he received a dirty look from his crush.

"First off, I didn't think it'd hurt him." Levi lied skillfully. Eren fell for it, but he still argued, "Then you should tell the truth!"

"Eren, if I tell the truth, I'll be expelled and so will you. Plus, deep down you know he deserved it!" Levi retorted, crossing his arms.

Eren opened his mouth, but nothing came out. Levi had struck somewhere sensitive. He was completely right. In the dark part of Eren's mind, Eren believed Jean had it coming for years.

"I know-" Eren breathed softly, "but that doesn't make it right."

Levi noticed how much it truly bothered him, so he promised, "I won't do it again. This will be our little secret, okay?"

Eren nodded sadly and rubbed the back of his neck. Sure, it was their secret, but it was gonna haunt him for a long time. Or until Jean bullied him again.

The intercom chimed and ordered, "Attention all students and staff! Please use the nearest exit and evacuate the school immediately. I repeat, use the nearest exit and evacuate the school immediately!"

"Isn't an evacuation a little much?" Levi laughed, heading to retrieve their bags.

Eren felt guilt pool at the bottom of his stomach as he followed his partner in crime. Once they had their school bags, Levi still continued to act as if he cared. He returned to check in with the librarian, but she instructed them to join everyone outside.

They took a backdoor out and noticed the large crowds of students—some worried while others were roughhousing. Levi noticed a friend, more of an ally, leaning against the football field fence and sauntered over. Eren was hesitant, wanting to search for his close friend, Armin.

"Eren," Levi called, gesturing closer, "come meet one of my friends."

Eren was distant from Levi after what he had done. The raven could've cared less if he had killed Kirstein, and he was actually prideful to show it. After a long debate with himself, Eren trudged over towards a blonde brute that scrolled through his touchscreen nonchalantly.

"Don't tell me Shitty Glasses is on her way here." Levi complained, scanning around the parking lot. We were somewhat out of view of the teachers, and they were too busy counting their students. Levi reached in his pocket and pulled out a box of cigarettes.

"Nah, she's been caught up in the dark web recently. She won't separate from the damn computer." Erwin responded.

Levi placed the smoke in his mouth and lit the end with a lighter from his bag. He took a long drag and blew it in Erwin's face. The raven nagged, "Get off your phone and say hi to my friend, Eren, here."

Eren hugged his chest timidly and offered a small smile. Erwin's expression remained bored as he greeted, "So, you're the guy Levi's hanging with constantly? I feel sorry for you."

Levi scowled at the tall teen. "Shut up, Eriwin. At least I'm not a lab rat."

Erwin chuckled at their inside joke. Eren tilted his head, trying to piece together the joke. Levi took another deep puff and blew it into the air. The gray sprialed into the air and disappeared, leaving a foul smell behind.

Eren wasn't happy that Levi smoked, but he had his own guilty pleasures that gave him no room to talk. The scent of the cigarette gave the brunette a headache.

"Hey, that skinny girl you met the other night—you know, the one with the blond hair and brown eyes?—she's been looking for you all day." Erwin informed, gesturing for Levi to hand him a cancer stick.

Levi pulled one out and tossed it to his ally. Erwin lit it and mimicked Levi.

"Petra Ral, that girl? Wonderful! That perky idiot's been following me everywhere."

Erwin chuckled, "I think she ain't half bad. She's at least shorter than you."

Levi ticked his tongue in irritation. "She doesn't fit the mold."

"And Eren does?"

The bright-eyed boy pursed his lips and tensed his shoulders. With a sly smirk, Levi sucked down a lung full of nicotine and blew it out his nose like a bull. Out of nowhere, he stuck the burning end of his cig into Erwin's neck. The teen recoiled and hissed out in pain.

Erwin's skin sizzled for a moment until Ackerman gave mercy and threw the drug to the asphalt. He stomped the light out and watched his ally rub the pain away.

Eren yelped, "Jesus, Levi, what the hell is wrong with you today?"

"Eren, have you ever took a hit?" Levi questioned, tightening the jacket around his waist. Eren shook his head. "Well, it's like playing with roman candle fireworks. You shoot at each other for fun. Yeah, it might hurt, but it's funny as hell to see your allies freak out."

"It's fine." Erwin chimed in. "It's what we do. It barely even hurts."

Eren flinched as his obsesser tossed his hair back. Erwin sounded sincere, but there was an odd dullness to his irises. Sure, he said he didn't mind; however, his balled up fists said otherwise.

Eren had been good friends with Levi, despite the psycho tendencies, because it was rare for him to ever find an honest colleague. In fact, he only had two other childhood besties to rely on. The innocent child knew the teen was rolling with the wrong crowd. It was a clique he didn't want to get acquainted with.

"I think I saw Armin and Mikasa over there. I'm gonna head that way." He quavered, already moving in the opposite direction. Levi and Erwin nodded towards him as he darted off into the crowd.

"Smooth." Erwin jeered. "Real smooth, jackass."

"Watch your tongue, dipshit." The shorter male warned with a heavy breath. "He's not going anywhere. He needs me."

"You sure?" The blonde snikered. Levi glance over at his smug ally, who dangled the half-dragged cig out of his mouth carelessly. "Who's Armin and Mikasa? He seemed in a bit of a hurry to leave, wouldn't ya say?"

The shady teenager spotted his obsession in the crowd with his two friends. Though he hated it, Erwin was right. If those two were around Eren, his crush would certainly drift away from his side. He couldn't kill them; that would destroy his love. He needed to set an example.

Untying his jacket from his waist, Levi pulled it onto his back and headed around to the back of the highschool.

"Where you goin'?" Erwin puzzled.

Levi didn't turn to look at him. Erwin knew the squinted glare on his slender features. It'd give it all away. "I don't need to explain myself. Tell Hange to meet me at the Fox Hole later today at five."

"Whatever you say, your highness." His ally scoffed, sliding his phone out of his pocket.

"That's Captain to you."
