"You're kidding me, right?" Armin gasped. "No way Levi did that!"
Mikasa cocked her head and joked, "And I always thought the bad boy look was just for show."
Eren wanted to be friends with Levi, but how could he? He nearly killed a guy and burned his friend with a cigarette in the same day! True, Levi had done some bad things in the past, but today drew the line for him.
About a week prior, Levi locked a kid named Connie in the janitor's closet for an entire night. Connie never told anyone because he was afraid of what the small criminal would do in revenge. And who's to say he was wrong. Another time, Levi slammed his fist into the bathroom mirror and shattered it to startle a hall monitor that caught him smoking.
The raven didn't care about the consequences of his actions—even if it were to a court height. Eren lost his high from the thrill of the rush. He'd be kind to the lunatic, but he wouldn't invite him anywhere.
"I'm probably going to avoid him," Eren noted, shrugging his shoulders. He trusted his friends with all of this because everything Levi did was in some way related to their best friend. As Levi said, if they confess, both of them would be suspended or expelled. "I don't need to put up with that."
"Damn, right!"
"Mikasa, language!" Armin chastised.
"Armin, English!" Mika retorted. "Besides, I'd feel better if you just cut ties with him altogether. I didn't like him smoking. Now, he's graduated to attempted murder!"
"Quiet!" Eren hushed, noticing the stares they were receiving. "Okay, fine. I made a mistake, but you don't need to let all of Maria know."
Just in time to cut the poor boy some slack, the principal of the school stood on the stairs of the school and announced, "Attention all students and staff! School is canceled for today and tomorrow! Call and have your parents come and pick you up, or hitch a ride with a friend!"
'Shit' Eren cursed to himself.
His mom was at work, and there was no way he'd interrupt his dad. Mikasa and Armin walked to school since they lived down the road.
Like the smug stalker he was, Levi appeared behind them, keys in hand. The trio shared a raised eyebrow look as if to say 'what else is there?'.
"Let's go, Yaeger." Levi monotoned, turning towards the student parking.
Eren wanted to refuse, but what other choice did he have. If he came home late, his dad...wouldn't be happy. Hesitantly, he waved goodbye to his friends and followed the guy he was borderline terrified of. Crossing through the cars, a familiar perky voice screened after the pale boy.
"Levi! Wait up!"
"Shitty Glasses, not now," Levi mumbled under his breath.
A science-looking girl appeared in front of them, beaming, "Mind if I ride with you? My car's still at the auto shop."
Without an ounce of empathy, Levi spat, "Walk."
He gripped Eren's wrist and whisked him in front. Gently, Levi guided him around Hange, slightly shoving to escape the unwanted hitchhiker.
"Levi!" Eren whined. "Don't push! Aren't you going to help your friend?"
"That thing isn't my friend."
Hange giggled and assured, "Don't mind him; that's just his personality. I'll go bother Erwin. Cya!"
And just as quick as she appeared, she vanished behind the rows of cars. Levi ticked his tongue and guided his crush to his black chevy. It was an older vehicle, but it got him from point A to point B.
