It was dark,

I can't see anything.

I opened the lights of our house and looked for Ate Rea,

"Ate?"

"Te Rea?"

But no one answered.

I slowly opened the door of Mommy's bedroom and noticed a blinking lights coming from the veranda. I went inside, I closed the door and walked quietly.

I saw Mommy sitting on the wooden bench with her scarf and a pillow on her back. I roamed my eyes to see how bright the veranda was, they decorated it with fairy lights to support the darkness of the night.

I opened the sliding glass door and Mom noticed me coming. She smiled at me and I smiled back at her as I kiss her cheek.

"Mom, what's this?" I asked,

"Hindi mo ba nagustuhan?" She smiled and gestured me to sit beside her,

"Of course, I like it po. I mean I love it! Pero ano pong meron today?" I chuckled and embraced her,

She weakly coughed, "Gusto ko lang mapa-aga ang birthday mo, so that you can celebrate it with me." She smiled.

Tears were forming in the edge of my eyes,

"Happy birthday" She coughed, "Anak."

I looked up to prevent my tears from falling, "Thank you, Mom. 5 days pa po" I chuckled.

Ate Rea suddenly came in while holding a cake sing a happy birthday song,

She placed the cake on the table,

"Wish ka na be, teka sindihan ko lang ang candle" She said,

"Mamaya na lang po ate, ako nalang po ang magsisindi" I said.

She nodded and went out of the veranda,
