When The Nightingale Sings

CHAPTER 5

"Hi!" I greeted her casually. Lumapit ako sa table nila kasi it would be rude for them if I don't.

"Uhm, remind ko lang sana yung... Uhm yung performance niyo for induction sa Friday, inaayos na kasi namin yung sequence ng program." She told me at lumipat yung tingin niya kay Brent na nasa likod ko.

I gazed at Brent too, his arms were crossed to his chest and scrolling through his phone.

I looked back at Denysse, "Ah, yeah we're working on it and actually tapos na rin naman kami, polishing na lang" I said. Tumingin siya ulit sa'kin and she nodded, acting like she heard what I've said.

"Hi! I'm Mark" Denysse's friend flirty offered his hand to Brent.

Brent pretended that he didn't hear him, Mark fakely coughed that made Brent attentive,

"Brent," Brent formally shook the hand of Mark.

"And by the way, this is my friend, Denysse" He tapped Denysse's shoulder. I saw the reaction of Denysse, her lips parted and she blushed, her friends on her back were teasing her.

"Hello, Denysse," She sounds pitchy and offered her hand to Brent.

I lowkey rolled my eyes, hindi dahil nagseselos ako but naaartehan ako sakanya.

I swear to God I wouldn't get jealous of them.

"Brent, I guess I know you, well everyone knows you" He chuckled and shook Denysse's hand.

Napatingin ako kay Brent sa sinabi niya, hello? Kanina ko lang sinabi sakanya 'yan tapos ngayon kilala niya na agad?

Wow.

Denysse chuckled too, magkahawak pa rin yung kamay nila, nang tanungin ni Mark si Brent.

"So you and Sachi are on?" Mark asked Brent and he gazed at me.

Napalunok ako sa tanong niya, malamang hindi! Ngayon pa nila ako tatanungin after they flirt with Brent?

"Ah, no we're good friends... very good friends," Ako yung sumagot sakanya while smiling.

"Friends," Brent added at tumingin ako sakanya.

Nakita ko ang ngiti sa labi ni Mark and he faked a cough. Tumingin din ako kay Denysse na nakatingin sa baba, biting her lower lip.

"I guess I'll go na, I have a lot of things to do pa e" Pagpapaalam ko.

I smiled at them and nodded at Brent.

Dali-dali akong umakyat sa taas, I didn't feel any sense of jealousy.

I just ignored whatever happened kanina.

Pumasok na ko sa room with my straight face, I saw Alex from the back and he's about to go near me.

"Badtrip?" He asked while crossing his arms to his shoulder.

"Nope" I shorty replied pulling out a face.

He chuckled and sat down on his chair.

After a few minutes, pumasok na yung professor namin and everything went fine. Hindi ko na rin alam kung anong nangyari kay Brent and Denysse kasi nauna na akong umakyat.
