He was not as hungover as he thought he would be, to be completely honest the drugs haven't even worn off yet. He groaned to himself as he rose out of bed stretching out his sore limbs. The darkness to his room definitely made it better for his eyes as they were already starting a dull ache. Whatever he took at the party last night was crazy, he was even seeing things.
He'd have to tell Taeyong to never give him whatever that was again. What even was that? Ten had no clue how Taeyong even does what he does. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he made his way to his small kitchen. His house was not the flashiest but it was enough for him.
Ten smelled coffee, but he did not make any. There was a half-full pot of hot coffee waiting for him right on the kitchen counter. Was he so high that he made himself a pot of coffee?
"Goodmorning! Human Ten!"
Ten snapped his head toward the kitchen table mouth agape. The man who he thought was just his imagination was sitting at his kitchen table, legs crossed drinking a cup of coffee. Ten blinked his eyes hoping he would go away but he didn't.
"What the fu-"
"Did you sleep well?" Lucas asked unbothered of Ten's distressed state.
"Why are you still here?"
"I am your guardian angel, I was sent to look after you." The god-like man said with a small smile.
Ten looked at him, his eyebrows were raised and the shocked yet confused expression never left his face. His muscles were rigid and there was a heavy feeling in his stomach. Ten couldn't grasp why the angel was even here. The said angel was just sitting there, staring at him with tilted eyes.
"What?" Ten said out of disbelief.
"I am your guard-"
"Yea yea yea got that part uhh," Ten started, "Why?"
Out of all of the questions Ten had why was the only one he could come up with? What a loser.
"I don't know why," Lucas took a sip of his coffee "I'm just doing my job."
"I don't even believe in God."
It was true, Ten is an atheist. He grew up in a religious home but things change. Around the age of sixteen Ten stopped believing in god and most things holy.
"I'm not asking you too," Lucas stated, putting his coffee down and looked Ten in the eyes. Ten didn't hate religion, he just would rather not be apart of it. To him, the people in it were closed-minded and usually rude.
"She loves all, no matter what they think." Lucas' eyes were twinkling as he spoke about the higher power.
Ten rolled his eyes, he was already tired of the religion talk. He spent years blocking it out from his parents and despised it all. This was a problem, he didn't need a guardian angel, he didn't need some supernatural babysitter to follow him around all the time. Ten was still in disbelief even with all of these thoughts. Maybe he hit his head or maybe he was still faded from the party last night.
Whatever it or Lucas was, Ten needed the problem fixed. Ten didn't like dwelling on his problems too long. If this was real, why Ten?
Why me?
Ten had so many questions but was so astounded he could barely get any words out. Could you blame him though? An actual angel is sitting in his kitchen. Lucas didn't have wings this time. He looked more like a human but it was like something was off, he was too perfect to be a human. Lucas stood up from the chair and started walking around his small kitchen.
"This is my first assignment actually," He walked around and observed his surroundings. "She told me to look after you and help you."
Lucas's smile was bright, of course it was he was an angel, he looked so genuine when he spoke, the innocence of a saint but also very wise.
"I'll be back" Ten made his way to his bathroom.
His reflection in the mirror was disheveled, he had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was a mess. He didn't recognize the face staring back at him. Ten didn't really have to go to the bathroom either. That's where his pills were. They were behind the mirror on the second shelf. He turned on the faucet in case Lucas had super hearing or something and then swiftly opened the cabinet. Ten grabbed the Altoids case the pills were in and put two in the palm of his hand. Maybe the angel would go away after the pills set in.
He was just about to take them when a gust of wind went through his bathroom.
"Ten, what are you doing?"
Ten screamed at the sudden voice in his bathroom. His eyes were wide as he gawked at Lucas. He was standing right next to him with a rigid look on his face. His aura was intimidating but also annoying at the same time.
"None of your business."
"But it is, I was sent down to help you!" Lucas was aggravated but quickly composed himself. "Give me the pills"
Ten glared at him, Lucas was really starting to piss him off, ever since he met him he had been a buzzkill.
"No!"
It went on for a while, Ten and Lucas arguing over the pills he had paid good money for. Lucas sighed and gave Ten a powerful stare.
"You will give me those pills," His voice was low and it reverberated loudly off of the bathroom walls.
It was like Ten was in a trance, like the angel's voice brainwashed him into doing whatever he said. The human then gave the two pills that were in his hand to Lucas and then opened the cabinet giving the whole Altoids case to Lucas.
Lucas smiled as the drugs were handed to him. "I didn't want to do that but it seemed like I had too."
Ten couldn't speak, he couldn't move and he couldn't believe what happened. Lucas mind-controlled him, and now he doesn't have any pills!
Lucas then took the case and poured them out and flushed them all down the toilet.
Ten watched with wider eyes than before and he could finally start to have feelings in his body. The mind control was wearing off.
"What the fuck!" Ten got loud, he was angry.
"I had to do it" The angel stated simply.
"I'm done with this!" Ten fumed, he then stormed out of the bathroom and out of his house entirely.
