The day Taeyong finally came back from the hospital he was surprised at the state of the apartment. He hasn't seen it this clean since his last roommate. He was also surprised to see Ten in the kitchen making food. Ten had been oozing happiness, Taeyong had no clue but he was happy that his friend was happy.

"You're back?" Ten said. He wasn't expecting Taeyong back this early. "Why didn't you text me?"

Ten hadn't checked his phone, so Taeyong could have texted him. He was too distracted to think about other things. He hoped the other wouldn't notice his glow from last night, Taeyong was good at picking up on things like that.

"I wanted to surprise you," Taeyong said with a soft smile.

Ten stopped momentarily what he was doing to give him a big hug, he missed his best friend. Taeyong let the other hold him tightly, he missed Ten as well.

"How are you?"

Taeyong just shrugged in his hold, gripping him tighter.

"Well you came just in time for the food," Ten said.

Taeyong picked through his food, Ten knew he was hungry but he understood the lack of appetite. The conversation was minimal between the two, Taeyong was looking at his food with a melancholy look on his face. On the other hand, Ten finished every bite of his food with a smile on his face.

By the time they were both finished with their meal, Taeyong spoke up.

"I think I'm going to quit," He said.

"Quit?"

"I'm going to quit drugs," He said with more confidence this time.

"Really? I'm proud of you!" Ten said putting his hand on the others shoulder.

"After I woke up in the hospital, it's like something changed," Taeyong said. "I felt something terrifying."

"I felt like something was over me, watching me," Taeyong said.

Lucas. Ten though immediately. However, the way he was talking about it made it seem much greater than it was. So Ten shut down the thought that Lucas was the one making Taeyong feel like this.

"But it wasn't a good thing," Taeyong had spoken up again. "It scared me, Ten."

Ten couldn't relate to the fear Taeyong was talking about.

"It's all so weird to think about," Taeyong muttered. "Things have been weird haven't they?"

"They have," Ten agreed. "I'm glad you have chosen to quit."

Taeyong gave out a meekly thanks to Ten. It seemed that they both had different aspects of the surroundings around them. Yes, things were weird, but Ten saw the greatness of the change that had happened.

"If you really think about it," Taeyong said. "Things have been terrible."

"What do you mean?" Ten asked.

"Well, before you came, I was almost evicted," Taeyong said. "And then after you came, which I'm grateful you did, like half of my friends stopped talking to me. Mark, Haechan, and Kun."

"Oh."

Ten had no idea that things like this were happening to him. Ten frowned as he thought of the hard things Taeyong had to face alone.

"Then to top that all off, I overdosed," Taeyong said running a hand through his hair. "I'm usually so in control of myself, but lately things have just been off. Don't you feel it?"

"I'm sorry you had to go through that," Ten said looking down.

He didn't know what to say to him. Ten had been so caught up in himself and Lucas he didn't think about how his own friend was.

"It's all good, it all depends on how I deal with it, right?" Taeyong stated.

"Right," Ten hesitated. "I'm always here for you, Taeyong."

The other smiled at him this time. "Thanks, Ten."

There was silence between them now, Taeyong seemed somewhat content but Ten couldn't shake the feeling out of his head.

"Well, anyway, I'm tired," Taeyong said standing up. "I haven't slept in my own bed in forever."

Ten watched as he walked to his own room. He thought about it more as he gets up to go to his own room. He was expecting Lucas to be in there, but he wasn't. The silence of his room only made his thoughts louder.

Usually, when Ten gets like this, he reminds himself that he has his own angel, just for him. Things couldn't be bad, right? Lucas was there to make things better, even if bad things did happen they were inevitable. Ten tries to remind himself of all of the good things that have happened.

Lucas was all he could think about. His brain was invaded by all thoughts, Lucas. Last night, was one of them. Ten seemed to be blinded by the good things, he couldn't open his eyes to see the things that weren't so great.

But he shouldn't think this way! I should be grateful, Ten thought to himself. Lucas helped him get clean, Lucas was there for him when no one else was.

At least that's what Ten thought.
