Drowning.

All ten could feel was the water closing in on him. He looked in the back of his car to see his little sister struggling with the seatbelt.

"It isn't working Ten!" She yelled in distress.

Ten's seatbelt didn't work either, he couldn't help himself or his sister. The water was up to his chest now, he looked up out of the open sunroof to see the broken bridge above. There were no people there to call for help. He was alone with his sister.

The water started to rise faster has the car sank further into the lake. It crept up to his neck making him shiver.

"Hold your breath okay?" Ten said turning back at his sister. The water was up to her chin.

He finally got his seatbelt unbuckled and clambered over to the backseat. His sister's seatbelt wouldn't give and the water was up to his sister's mouth. She had to tilt her chin to get air.

He had just gotten the seatbelt free when the water covered her entire face. She lifted out of the seat and took a deep breath.

"We are almost there, okay?" Ten said grabbing on to his sister's hand. "We just have to make it out of the sunroof."

The murky water now completely filled the car. They couldn't see five inches in front of them. Ten thought he had a tight hold on his sister's hand, but he didn't.

Ten shot up out of bed, drenched in sweat. He gasped for air as he looked around the room to see Lucas sitting at the edge of the bed. He's had this nightmare before, but it has been a while.

"Were you there the whole time?" Ten asked, trying to control his breathing.

"Yea?" Lucas said nervously. "Are you feeling better?"

Ten was feeling better despite the nightmare. He was just a little disoriented. He looked at Lucas who then looked away from him.

"Yea, I feel good."

"Good," Lucas said.

The silence was awkward, Lucas was just sitting there twiddling his thumbs. A blush rose to Ten's face as the memory of last night came back to him. He was usually confident in things like this but Lucas has got him all flustered.

"Do you still have a fever? You're red," Lucas said quickly coming to Ten's side and feeling his forehead.

"No! No, I'm fine," Ten flinched.

"Ok," Lucas said. " Do you need anything?"

For you to get out of my room.

"No, I'm good." Ten said quietly.

After their short conversation, Lucas just sat there. Next to Ten on his bed. He looked at him occasionally but Ten couldn't read his expression.

"So I'm stuck with you?" Ten asked after a moment.

"For now you are," Lucas frowned.

Ten sighed, he might as well accept his fate and figure out this problem a different way.

That's how it went for the whole day. Ten minding his business doing some light chores around the house. Lucas was there every step of the way. He was observing him, making sure Ten didn't do anything stupid.

If Ten was scrolling through his phone, Lucas would be there and ask what he was laughing at. If Ten was making some food, Lucas would be right behind him giving him tips on how to make it better. Which makes no sense because angels don't need to eat. Or sleep, so Lucas was up all night just watching Ten sleep. Creep.

Ten had to haggle Lucas about going to the bathroom. Lucas first wanted to go with him but Ten quickly disagreed.

"Just use your angel powers to know that I'm not being dumb."

"Oh right."

The day dragged on, seemingly slow but before Ten knew it, it was nighttime. He had practically done everything he had to do in his house. He had checked all of his phone notifications, nothing important. Most of all he was bored.

"So do you sleep?"

"Not really,"

"Oh."

Ten sighed for the nth time that day. He was getting ready to go to bed but he just couldn't fall asleep. Probably because someone was staring at him.

"Well, goodnight?" Ten said turning on his side so he didn't have to look at Lucas.

"Goodnight, Ten."
