He was drowning again.
This time it was different, however, the water around him was boiling hot. It was only halfway filling up the car fogging up in the windows. He turned his head expecting to see his sister in the back seat but she was not there. It was just him alone in the murky scalding water. Ten looked up through the sunroof to see a figure standing on the bridge. He was too far away to see who it was but he could tell they had a powerful aura.
Ten began to struggle with his seatbelt like every other past dream. It was somewhat harder this time since the water was so hot. His car felt like a sauna but he finally got his seatbelt undone. He got out faster this time since he didn't have to help his sister.
The water helped him float through the open sunroof of the car, he wasn't that far away from the surface of the water.
Just as he was about to break the surface, the feeling of a hand grazed the top of his head. The hand, like the river, was burning hot. It had a tighter grip on him now holding him under the surface. He was starting to run out of breath as he thrashed around under the water. The hand that had ahold of him wouldn't let up.

Ten shot up from his bed, a weird sense of deja vu just like after every nightmare that he had. He noticed he was still in the same clothes from the night before, he had a pounding headache and was sweating buckets.
Like his previous dream, his room felt like a hot tub. The warmness of the room made him feel suffocated. He got up and wobbled around for a bit, collecting himself so he doesn't fall down. The room seemed to get warmer as he was nearing the door.
He reached for the door handle only to pull his hand back quickly. The door handle was scorching hot, Ten furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. He grabbed the hem of his shirt to use it like a glove so he could open the door.
Flames burst through the door knocking Ten back with force. He covered his eyes with his arm trying not to breathe in the smoke that was expanding into his bedroom.
Shit.
Ten scrambled to his feet, moving as far as he could away from the entrance of the room. The fire bellowed, he was surprised he couldn't hear it before. The room felt like a furnace now, the fire spreading on the carpet inching closer to his bed.
His phone was on the other side of his bed, he didn't want to risk burning himself for his phone, so he braced himself against the wall. Lucas!
"Lucas?" Ten screamed out in a confused but scared tone.
Nothing happened and Ten's heart dropped to his stomach. Did Lucas leave him? The room was still on fire and Ten was still in there.
"Lucas!" He tried again closing his eyes tears threatening to fall out.
A familiar gust of wind met his skin, he had never felt so thankful in his life. He looked up to see Lucas standing there looking alarmed. The angel looked at the fire and then back to Ten with his eyes wide.
"We have to get out of here," Lucas said.
"No shit, get us out, Lucas," Ten said, he wanted to sound rude but he couldn't because of the fear of getting burnt.
Lucas then made his way towards Ten. He put a hand on his shoulder, and as soon as the fire spread they were outside. Lucas had brought them across the street of Tens burning house. The flames danced high in the night sky, the sound of wood burning and things falling could be heard from a mile away. The smoke was illuminated by the fire, it was a huge cloud releasing soot onto the ground.
Ten stood there with tears falling down his cheeks watching it all, watching as all of his belongings burn to ash. Lucas was standing there too, his hand was still on his shoulder, he wasn't looking at the fire he was looking at Ten.
"Are you okay?" Lucas asked.
"I don't know," Ten said eyes never leaving the fire.
The sound of a firetruck snapped Ten out of the silence. The siren was loud in Ten's ears, the truck came to a stop right in front of his house. About six firemen rushed out getting ready to extinguish the fire. One other one noticed Ten standing across the street and ran towards him.
"Was there anyone else in the house?" He said
"No it was just me and-" Ten stuttered. "It was just me."
"You are lucky you got out in time," The fireman said. "This one of the biggest fires I have seen on a house like this, from the looks of it it was from an inside source and an outside source."
"What?" Ten didn't really know what he meant. He didn't care how it started, he just wanted to be back in his bed.
"This is a weird case, but not impossible," the other started again. "Don't worry, your insurance will probably cover it."
With that, the fireman left Ten to be alone again. Ten sat down on the curb with a sigh and he still had to process what just happened. He felt Lucas's presence next to him, he sat down as well.
"Thank you," Ten said to Lucas.
Lucas turned to him with a quirked brow. "You're welcome?"
"You saved me," Ten said more stern. "Thank you."
Lucas only nodded at his words, he thought it was weird the human was thanking for doing a task any good being would do.
Ten and Lucas sit there together, the cool air contrasted from what Ten felt before. The house was now put out as the firefighters gathered their belongings and got back in the firetruck. As they drove away Ten wondered whats next. What will he do now?
