TW: overdose

It had been weeks since he had told Taeyong about Lucas. No surprise when he didn't remember a thing about the long conversation. Ten was relieved, he didn't want him to try to resolve his predicament. He just wanted someone to vent to.

It had also been weeks since he had spoken to any of his friends, except for Taeyong. Most of the people who went to the intervention have been texting and calling non stop. Though it has slowed down in the last couple of days, he was glad they tried to care but he realized that it's not what he needed.

About a week ago, Ten and Lucas were lazing about on a Sunday afternoon. Ten would usually be sleeping in but Lucas had other plans. Cuddling. They were enjoying the silence except for the constant ringing of Ten's phone. The continuous buzzing against the nightstand annoyed both of them.

Soon enough, Lucas had grabbed the phone off of the nightstand and turned it off. "You don't need them," he had said.

Ten didn't think much of it, he was happy the ringing had stopped. They then enjoyed the silence and the warm embrace of each other.

Ten and Lucas's relationship has definitely changed since the beginning. At first, there was a one-sided hatred, from Ten, he regrets it looking back. On the other hand, if he had the chance to go back it would have probably been the same. After the onesided hatred and the tensions between them that never seemed to go away, they were finally comfortable around each other.

Resuming after that Ten and Lucas were out and about. They were walking in the park, soaking up the sun. The park was close to empty so Ten didn't have to worry about looking crazy talking to himself. When someone did walk by, Ten would simply put his phone to his ear and pretend he was on the phone. Ten subtly wished that Lucas could be allowed to show himself to others, to make it more normal.

"What are you thinking about?" Lucas asked Ten when he noticed his eyebrows furrowed.

"It's not a big deal."

"I'm sure it is," Lucas said softly grabbing Ten's hand.

They walked side by side holding hands on the narrow pathway in the park. The weather was perfect, Ten didn't want to ruin it with his melancholy mood. After spending so much time with Lucas this past week, he wanted it to be more than it was.

"I just wish you could be seen," he said with a small frown. "But, I understand why you can't."

"I know," Lucas gave Ten a sad smile. "How about we head back?"

Ten nodded and they headed off in the direction of the apartment. The time spent with Lucas indoors was better anyway. He could talk to him freely, and it was like he was a real human. Sometimes Ten forgot he was an angel when they spoke to each other. It was when he would magically disappear right in front of him would he remember who Lucas actually was. It was a miracle in Ten's eyes how he had ended up where he was right now.

Speaking of, they neared the apartment. The tall building blended into the rest of the others. Lucas and Ten did talk about when Ten would get his own place again. He didn't know the answer to that question, like most of the others.

Ten opened the door to the apartment, it was quiet as usual. He thought Taeyong wasn't home but then he almost tripped over his shoes. He must be asleep, then. Ten walked into the living room to find Taeyong on the floor. That is not normal.

Maybe he fell asleep on the floor? Tens thought was taken away from him when he saw the pill bottle that was sprawled on the floor next to his friend. It was open there were pills all over the floor. When he looked at Taeyong again, he noticed he was shaking the slightest.

Panic rose in Tens's mind, Taeyong overdosed.

"Lucas, help!" He yelled to the angel who had about the same expression as his own. Lucas didn't move, though. He stayed where he was, his face morphing back to his usual expression.

"I can't interfere with death, Ten."

"He's not dying!" Ten cried while putting his head on Taeyongs chest. He could still hear the heartbeat although it was faint.

He never broke eye contact with Lucas until he realized he would have to take matters into his own hands. Lucas wasn't going to help at all, Ten was too panicked to even think about his lack of actions. He reached into his pocket frantically pulling out his phone.

"911, what's the emergency?"

"My friend, he overdosed," Ten told the operator over the phone. "What do I do?"

"Wait there with him, roll him on his side," the operator spoke. "We will be there shortly."

Ten nodded even though they couldn't see him. He quickly turned Taeyong on his side, he could hear his wheezing breath. Ten didn't know CPR, or anything helpful at the moment so he waited for the ambulance to get there.

Lucas had disappeared like normal, leaving Ten alone. The silence was deafening in the room. All he could hear were Teyongs labored breaths, at least he was still breathing. The paramedics busted into the room startling Ten. They quickly took over, putting whatever medical contraptions they had needed.

The gurney was shortly wheeled into the room after the EMTs. They carefully raised Taeyong onto the stretcher. Ten hoped Taeyong would pull through. This is unusual for his friend, Taeyong usually does that for fun.

Ten followed him being wheeled out of the apartment, he was going to ride with him regardless of what they said to him. Luckily they had let him in the back of the ambulance. All he could do was hope for the best on the long bumpy ride to the hospital.
