The bar was not as crowded as he thought it would be. There were only a few other groups scattered among the seating area. The bar itself was not the usual bar Taeyong and Ten would go to. This one seemed more laid back, somewhere you'd go to get food rather than get wasted. Ten shrugged it off, a bar was a bar.
He looked around for Taeyong and the party he was with only to find just him. Taeyong was seated alone at the bar in the back corner of the room. The table already had about three empty glasses and a full one Taeyong was chugging down. Taeyongs eyes brightened as Ten walked closer.
"Hey, where are your friends?" Ten asked pulling a chair and sitting down.
"Oh, they bailed," Taeyong said. "They aren't as cool as you."
Ten laughed at his statement, Taeyong was already pretty tipsy. Before ten would comment on how he started without him. He knew he had to reserve himself tonight because he knew a certain someone was watching him.
After Lucas and Ten had argued about going out tonight, they had come to an agreement; Lucas could only go if he didn't show himself to Ten. So as Ten looked around the bar he made sure he couldn't see Lucas anywhere. Lucas should only be watching from above like a normal angel should do.
"Drinks on me tonight," Taeyong smiled.
"Oh, I don't know if I can go that crazy tonight," Ten tried to say but was cut off.
"Loser! Come on, drink with me," Taeyong said. "Please?" Taeyong stuck out his bottom lip and widened his eyes.
Ten scoffed and looked away. "You know I can't say no to that face," He said keeping his eyes trained on the opposite wall of the room.
"I know that's why I'm doing it," Taeyong pouted making his face even cuter than it already is.
Ten could feel himself about to give in. I'm good at controlling myself when it comes to alcohol, he thought.
Don't do this, you'll regret it in the morning.
Ten almost flinched at the voice in his head. Right, Lucas, he forgot.
In spite, Ten turned to Taeyong and nodded his head. "Ok, I will drink with you."
Taeyong jumped for joy in his seat and then flagged down the bartender for another round of drinks.
"I hope you like martinis!"
Ten sighed to himself, he had no idea what he had gotten himself into. Maybe if he is responsible for the night, Lucas will learn that Ten isn't that irresponsible person after all. Maybe Lucas will finally be less strict if he knows Ten can handle his alcohol.
The drinks came seconds later, Taeyong and Ten eager to grab them. Taeyong was excited to drinks with his best friend, and ten was excited to prove a point. Ten could definitely be a responsible drinker.
***
He was not responsible.
About thirty minutes later when Taeyong had asked for round two, Ten almost said no. He almost declined and almost drank water for the rest of the night. Something in his brain said that he could definitely have two drinks. After two drinks though, he would stop this time.
He didn't.
Soon enough two drinks turned into three and then four. After the fourth martini of the night, Ten had lost all self-control.
It had been maybe an hour and Taeyong and Ten had discovered that there was no dancefloor in this bar. Taeyong had quickly called it lame and grabbed his hand and dragged him from the counter. Ten wasn't sure Taeyong even paid but he didn't really care as he was out of the bar in a flash.
