"Jae," called Yoongi. It was already 6 a.m. and he needed to leave.
Jae opened her eyes, looking at him sleepily. "Is it time?" she asked.
Yoongi nodded, "I won't be back until November 25th." Jae tried to sit but Yoongi stopped her. "You don't have to get up."
"No. My boyfriend is going away and I'm not going to see you for 2 weeks to come. Of course I'm going to get up," protested Jae as she sat. She looked at the IV bag, there's still enough fluid. Judging on the drip speed, she didn't think the nurse would come for another 30 minutes.
"I wanted to give you these earlier, but I forgot," said Yoongi, giving her a big paper bag after she sat.
Jae looked at it curiously and inspected the contents. How come she didn't see that when he came? Her eyes went big when she saw there was a box of mobile phone and a laptop in it. "I can't take this. You already spent too much," Jae handed the bag back to him.
Yoongi knew that was coming. "Be practical Jae. You need the phone and the laptop to communicate and work. You need to get a place to stay too. You can start searching now. I can't get your old number since you have to be present to replace your old SIM card. The number you have there is just temporary if you choose it. It's a dual SIM phone anyway. I already saved my number there."
"But it's still too much," replied Jae.
"You have lost everything in the fire. You have to start all over again."
"But I'm not -"
"A charity case. I know," he continued that off for her. "I love you and I want to help you get started. Whatever items I spent on you is solely out of concern and my feelings for you. Are we clear?" he asked her sternly.
"But -"
"Are we clear?" he repeated again.
"Yes," replied Jae.
"I have sent my studio equipment that I'm not using anymore to Ki Tae hyung's restaurant - not because I'm being cheap, but I know you would object if I get you new stuff."
Jae only nodded. That was true. "Someone was busy yesterday," commented Jae.
"I do what I could," Yoongi gave her a peck. "I can help you with the equipment, but I can't help you with what you lost in your laptop."
"I have them all saved in my cloud storage. I have no trouble with that," supplied Jae.
"That's good," he then gave her another bag, filled with a few change of clothes.
"Oppa!" protested Jae. "The laptop and phone are already enough."
"And how do you plan to walk out the hospital when you get discharged? With that patient uniform?" he asked.
"I would think of a way," answered Jae. She was baffled. How did he know that was in her mind earlier?
"The clothes are just enough for a few days. I didn't get you shoes because I can't guess shoes size. You would have to go shopping after this. You wouldn't want to get discharged with the hospital slippers."
Jae nodded. She inspected deeper inside the second bag and she went red. Yoongi knew what she was looking at.
"How... what... you..." Jae was speechless.
"I know you have nothing underneath," he winked. Waking up next to her that morning was one of the toughest time he ever had. She was so soft and beautiful in her sleep that he ached. He went straight away to the bathroom after he woke up.
Jae blinked. "But... the size... how..." she was flustered.
"I guessed," answered Yoongi, not divulging on the details to Jae.
It was amusing actually. He knew he would cause an uproar if he was caught buying woman clothes and the press would have a field day. He knew people would easily identify him if he wore his usual face mask and cap. That was a telltale sign of an idol trying hard to go incognito but couldn't.
What he did was, he went out without covering his face with his bangs pulled down nearly covering his eyes. He blended that well with his street attire and no one did a double take when he was out. He was safe when he bought Jae's clothes. Credit card would give his identity away, so he paid everything in cash.
The amusing part came when he went to the lingerie shop to get Jae's underwear. He had never bought that before so it was disconcerting to see the variety of choice. Underwire, non-wired, the letter that comes after the numbers... can't they just put the normal S to XL size?
Flustered, he went out to the nearest restroom, into a toilet cubicle and started to browse the steps to buy a bra. So the letters were cup size.... what does the cup means anyway? He knew some people were lauded for their cup size but how would he know how that works? He went deeper and was somewhat enlightened found his answer. He hazard a guess on Jae's size and went back into the store and grabbed whatever he could get before paying. Romantic or sexy thoughts whatsoever didn't even cross his mind when he did the deed. He just wanted to get it done fast.
Yoongi brushed the memory off. "It's the first time I ever got that for someone, but I hope it fits," he went close and whispered to her ears. Jae shivered from his soft breath.
He was about to kiss her but Jae covered her mouth. "No. Morning breath," said Jae.
Yoongi chuckled. "I'm not going to wait that long for you to brush your teeth," he removed that hand and proceeded on to kiss her. Jae was lost in his kiss. He was really addictive.
"You're addictive too," said Yoongi smiling.
"Did I say that out loud?" asked Jae.
"You did," replied Yoongi and Jae groaned, hiding her face on his shoulder. "I have to go now. The plane leaves in the afternoon and I haven't packed."
"I'm going to miss you," said Jae.
"I'm going to miss you too. Don't worry about the hospital bill. It's already taken care of," said Yoongi.
"You really spent a too much," complained Jae, sounding like a broken record. "I don't like it."
"Jae, accept it. You could take care of yourself, I know that. Let me take care of you, for once," coaxed Yoongi. "I draw my line at choosing a place for you to stay. When you look for a new place, don't choose a gosiwon again," pleaded Yoongi. "It's unsafe."
"I can't promise you that."
"Jae, please," repeated Yoongi. "At least somewhere safe. I know it would cost more than a gosiwon but if you need any help, just call me up."
"I'll try my best."
"Promise me," he held up his right pinky.
Jae sighed, "Promise."
"I love you, Jae," he kissed her.
"I love you too, oppa," she returned as Yoongi made his way to the door.
Two weeks seems so far.
