"Mom, I don't care if he was my childhood friend or something, I don't even remember him" Keith said through the phone.
"Well at least you'll have a friend!" His mom said.
"Why do we even have to live with them?"
"Because they have an extra room and she is my best friend"
"Yeah, your best friend you haven't seen in twelve years"
"I won't discuss this with you. I'm coming with the truck, make sure everything is packed"
"Yeah, love you. Bye" he said before hanging up.
He made sure everything was in boxes and ready to go. Sure, the Mcclains were humble enough to let them stay at their house, but why did he have to share a room?
His mom arrived with the moving truck and they put everything in it and hopped on the road. The ride was long, about 2 hours. Keith put in his earphones and listened to music. He closed his eyes and just got lost in his thoughts.
They finally stopped in front of the big house. It was a classic family home, the Mcclains were a medium big family with 3 children and a mom. He had to share his room with the middle child, Lance. His mom told him they were friends when they were little kids.
They each grabbed a box and went in the house. His mom showed him the way to his new room.
It was a fairly big room with already two beds. The walls were covered in posters and pictures. Over the bigger bed were fairy lights and plants on a shelf above the bed. There was a window on the other side of the room. The walls were cream and there was a wooden desk placed against the wall. The other bed was naked, there weren't any sheets.
Keith place the box next to his new bed and walked out to grab another box. He didn't have much, but it was enough for him. He made the bed and sat on it with his cellphone in hand.
A boy entered the room. He was tan and wore a blue tank top with swim trunks. He looked surprised at first but then smiled.
"Hey, you're Keith!" He said. Keith didn't look at him, he just nodded and stared at his phone.
"It's really nice to meet you again, I'm Lance" He said. Keith nodded again."Did you already unpack everything you had? You mustn't have much stuff!" Lance said. He was trying to get along with his new roommate but he just didn't cooperate.
"Look Keith, I understand you don't wanna makes friends or something but you could at least answer!" He said. Keith took out one of his earphones and looked at Lance confused."Sorry, did you say something?" He asked.
"Wow, super nice. I'm talking to you mullet man" Lance said.
"First of all, I didn't hear you, I had my earphones in. Second, it's not a mullet"
"Oh but it is" Lance chuckled.
Keith just sighed and put his earphones back in. Lance rolled his eyes and sat at his desk.
After a while, Keith got up and grabbed his backpack. He searched through it and frowned.
"Shit" he said barely above a whisper."What up?" Lance asked.
"Nothing I just can't find something"
"What is it?"
"Something, none of your business" he said, he continued searching and finally found it.
"Is it a picture?" Lance asked excitedly.
"Yeah" he said.
"What of?"
"Stop being so curious. It's none of your business" he glared at Lance and looked back at his picture. He smiled sadly before putting it back in his backpack.
"Why are you so emo?" Lance asked. Keith turned around quickly and glared at Lance.
"I'm not emo" he said.
"Well, you're wearing black jeans, a black t-shirt, a red flannel around your waist and a dark gray jean jacket. Plus, you already have a MCR poster on the wall" Lance said. Keith looked quickly at his outfit. "Oh and you're wearing fingerless gloves. That's pretty emo if you ask me"
"Yeah maybe you're right" Keith said before laughing.
"And You smoke"
"How did you even know?" Keith looked at him confused.
"You smell" Lance said.
"Oh. Sorry" he sat up and smelled his sleeve.
"It's ok but don't let my mom notice"
"Ok, sure" Keith smiled and Lance sat on his bed.
"So we were best friends huh?" Lance chuckled.
"I don't really remember, honestly" Keith looked down before putting his hair up in a ponytail.
Lance hummed in response, he laughed and grabbed a hoodie.
"Wanna play a game?" Keith asked
"Uh sure. What do you have in mind?"
"Maybe 20 questions, since we don't know each other and we'll be roommates y'know" Keith proposed. Lance nodded and smiled.
"You start" Lance said.
"What music do you listen to?" Keith asked. He liked to know the musical preferences of the new people he met.
"A lot of musicals and maybe Conan Gray?" He said.
"Oh that's good" he smiled.
"What do you listen to?" Lance asked
"Well lots of emo music, and I listen to a little bit of Conan Gray too" Both smiled and kept asking questions like what's your favourite colour, animal, your dream job and stuff like that.
"What's your type of girl" Lance asked. Keith started laughing and Lance was just confused as to why he was.
"What? Why are you laughing?""I'm gay, Lance" he said after he finally stopped laughing.
"Ohhhh. Sorry I didn't know" he chuckled awkwardly and looked away. "Well then what's your type of boy?"
"I like tall, dark skinned, soft boys" he looked up and smiled. "I wanna be able to go run in a field with him y'know? I want him to be super nice and stuff"
"Hm, yeah"
"What's your type of girl?" He looked up at Lance with a questioning look.
"Definitely blonde, blue eyes, popular, cheerleader, you know the type" Lance said.
Keith chuckled and looked at him."You'll never find a girl like that"
"Oh but I already did" he smirked "Allura, she has long, white hair, she's really nice, she's a cheerleader, popular. Exactly what I like"
Lance said."She sounds cool"
"She is"
