12. Governor

I wake up to the feeling of a falling impact on my side.
Groaning I wiggle to my back so I could release the pressure on my side.
"THEA!" I hear Maggie scream.
"Hey" I say quietly trying to redress myself.
"I'm so sorry... I told them where the prison is" she says helping me up.
"It's fine" I say quietly.
"Did they...touch you?" She questions with tears in her eyes.
"I don't know... I think so" I respond simply in shock.
"Here, get some rest...you'll need it" she says moving me into the corner of the room.
Silently I allowed my tiredness to take me.

"THEA, come on WAKE UP" cut though my slumber. I open my eyes and recognise the bright blue ones in front of me.
"Hey Daryl" I mumble before wincing as he lifts me up.
"I'm sorry" he whispers into my hair.
"Don't be" I whisper back.
"Don't you dare close your eyes...not after last time" he growls.
"Well find something to keep me awake" I say fiddling with my fingers.
I feel a pair of lips collide with mine shocking me at first as i feel electricity run though my body.
"That good enough?" he asks walking out the basement.
"Yep" I chuckle and regret it.

"RICK! You take her I'm gonna draw them away" Daryl says handing me over.
"Oh no you don't.. we are not splitting up" I say grabbing his vest.
"I'll be right behind you" he says forcing me to release my grip.
"Let's go" rick whispers as we make our way out the walls.

"Glenn! Maggie! Are you okay?" I hear rick question as we approach a car.
"Yeah we're fine. How's Thea?" Maggie asks checking my injuries.
"What happened to her?!" I hear Glenn yell.
"Governor"Maggie says simply.
"Where's Daryl?" I ask concerned.
"He hasn't returned yet" Glenn says leaning on the car.
"Rick you have to go after him" I say as he nods and helps me intothe car first.
"I'll bring him back Thea" he says as he runs off.

"THEA!!"
"What!?" I snap from my rude awakening.
"I though I told you not to go ta sleep" he says grumply.
"And I thought you said you were right behind us" I snap back twisting in my chair.
"Fair enough... rick say we can't take merle back to camp"
"He's an asshole. and I mean your brother not rick" I say giggling.
"Yeah I know but he's my brother"
"What you saying?" I ask looking into his eyes to see sadness and anger.
"I'm saying I'm leaving. Just came over to say goodbye" he says shifting his bag on his back.
"Your leaving me?" I ask sitting up.
"Yeah... goodbye Thea" he says walking off. I couldn't say anything. Hell I couldn't breath.

"Thea!" Snap me from my thoughts as rick drives us back to the prison.
"You okay you went really pale?" Rick asks and I nod.
"Is this about Daryl? Cause he made his choice an-"
"I know he made his choice he came up to me and announced it" I snap.
"Why you so upset anyway?" Maggie asks.
"Cause he was one of us and he helped me through everything... I didn't even get the chance to say-" I cut myself off.

"Say what?"
"Nothing" I say staring back out the window.
"Carol showed up" rick announces to us as he drives.
"Is she okay?"
"Yeah after you guys disappeared she walked into us dehydrated and hungry but not bit" rick says smiling and I nod as the car turns back into a annoyingly quiet ride.

"Their we go all done" hershel announces as he cleans my last wound.
"Thea are you gonna talk to us?" Carol asks moving to sit next to me. I shake me head and roll up into my blanket with my back to them.
"I'm sorry" hershel whispers leaving and shortly followed by carol.

"Thea eat" Glenn begs as I ignore him and the last 3 people to try and get me to move.
I'm heartbroken that Daryl would just leave like that especially after everything that happened.
"We're you and daryl together?" He asks as I decide if I should tell him. Slowly I nod but only slightly.
"I'm sorry" he says quietly.
"Don't be it wasn't you" I whisper petting lucky.
"What did the governor do to you?" Glenn questions and instantly tears well up.
