By the time the girls arrived, they stopped by at Emily's house. As soon as she got off the bike, Emily handed Sarah the extra helmet she used before waving good-bye to her and walking up to the door.
When she opened the door, Emily was surprised to see a couple of guys sitting on the living room couches.
"Hold on. Isn't that Emily?" one of them said,
"Yeah. That's her alright," Aunt Samantha replied as she walked from the kitchen holding a tray full of drinks. "I remember you carrying her when she was a baby, Jonathan."
"I don't remember that. That's probably James." Jonathan said,
Confused, Emily just slowly walked towards the kitchen. She saw her mom washing the dishes. "Hi Mom!" she said,
Her mom turned around and saw her. "Hi, honey!" she replied, "Oh, can you do the dishes for me, please? I got some stuff going on upstairs."
"Sure thing, Mom," Emily said as she placed her bag on the side, removing her jacket and washing the dishes. "I didn't know that we have visitors."
"Oh. Yeah. I invited them." her mom replied,
"It's, uh, a meeting." Aunt Samantha chimed in.
"I see," Emily said as she scrubbed the dishes. By the time she is done, she grabbed her bag and slowly walked out of the kitchen and into her room.
Emily let out a sigh of relief as she dropped her bag near the closet and lay down on her bed face-flat.
'Might as well rest for now before doing that homework.' she thought to herself. She opened her laptop and was about to check the assignment when she stopped 'Nah. I'll probably do that tomorrow.'
Then, there was a knock on the door. Knock. Knock. "You in there, Emily?" Aunt Samantha called, "Can you come down here for a bit?"
Emily lazily got up and opened the door. She went down the stairs and saw her aunt holding a box in her hand. "What's that?"
"Oh, this?" Aunt Samantha gave the box to Emily, "This one is for you. "
Emily held the box and opened the lid. She saw a long grey scarf and on top of it was a ruby brooch pin.
"Oh, that brooch was supposed to be given to your mother when she and your dad were dating but he didn't have much of a budget to buy it," Jonathan said, "Fortunately, I found it on sale the other day."
"You don't say," Emily asked. She looked at the brooch and held it in her hand as she put down the box.
Suddenly, something flashed into her mind like lightning. She caught a glimpse of the dream she had. When she blinked, she realized that the people she saw were the same as those in the living room.
"You okay?" James asked, noticing that Emily had a pale look on her face
Emily, still feeling dazed after what she just saw, shook her head. "I'm good." she replied, "I think I'll go out for some fresh air." She grabbed her jacket and went out of the house.
"What's going on with her?" Ace wondered then looked at Jonathan, "She probably noticed that smelly perfume of yours."
"Don't drag me into this," Jonathan warned him,
