About an hour later, time passes as students move from one classroom to the next. On the other hand, Emily tried to focus on each lesson but she felt out of touch as her mind wandered off from time to time.
As soon as the next bell rang, it was time for lunch. Emily was in her locker placing her books there. She reached into her jacket pocket and took out the ruby brooch to which she noticed it glowing. Then Emily looked at the corner of her eye and saw the same girl who bullied her the other day. She quickly slid her brooch into her pocket, closed her locker, and locked it. But just as she was about to walk the other way, two other girls blocked her path.
Emily took a few steps back and slowly turned around to find the girl who bullied her standing there with her arms crossed.
"Going somewhere?" she asked Emily,
"Uh, if I have to be honest, I'd say anywhere but here," Emily replied, "By the way, I didn't get your name."
"The name's Rebecca Sanchez, newbie," the girl scoffed at her, "And you owe me an apology,"
Emily was confused, "I think you got it backward," she said, "Also, mind if I ask why are your friends here?"
"First of all, it's because of you I got a warning from the principal," Rebecca said then smirked, "And second of all, you're in for a lesson you won't soon forget."
She nodded at her two friends who then grabbed both of Emily's arms and she couldn't move. Then, Rebecca went into Emily's jacket pocket and took out the ruby brooch.
"Well. Well. Well. What do we have here?" Rebecca said as she examined the brooch.
"Hey! Give it back!" Emily pleaded,
"Sorry, hun, but this is the consequence of making me look bad."
"You're the one who made yourself look bad so don't blame me for what happened back there."
"Then, I'll be taking this," Rebecca said as she shook the brooch in front of Emily in a taunt and then ran away.
Her two friends let Emily go and ran away as they pushed her to the side. Emily quickly got up and ran after them.
Meanwhile, Rebecca and her friends ran as fast as they could. Along the way, they made a ton of ruckus like placing obstacles in Emily's path to slow her down. Little did they know that Emily managed to parkour her way through it all while fixing them which even surprised Emily that she could do that with ease.
At one point, Rebecca's friends were getting a bit frustrated and looked ahead of them and saw a water dispenser. They got to it, took out the water jug, and spilled the water on the ground hoping that Emily would slip and fall. However, Emily saw it all and in a split second, she sprinted and jumped over the water, rolled on the ground, and continued running after them. Rebecca and her friends managed to run until they were on the roof of the school. Thinking that Emily didn't catch up to them, they let out a sigh of relief.
Rebecca looked at the ruby brooch and could not help but smile as she pinned it to her pink silk jacket. She then grabbed her phone and started taking pictures of herself while showing off the brooch.
Suddenly, Emily barged through the door to the roof and saw them.
"Give that back, Rebecca." she said, "It doesn't belong to you."
Rebecca stopped taking pictures and looked at Emily with a smug face. "Well, it is and there's nothing you can do about it," she said, then made a gesture to her friends. "Deal with her, please?" Her two friends nodded and charged straight at Emily.
Emily sighed, "It doesn't have to be this way,"
They made an attempt to punch and kick Emily but she swiftly moved away from them and pinned them to the ground. Emily then stood up and focused her sights on Rebecca. But as she walked up to her, Rebecca's two friends grabbed her by the arms and pulled her away.
"Just give it up, fool," Rebecca said, "This is what you get when you mess with me,"
But before Emily was about to reply, she saw something behind Rebecca. A giant winged beast floated and towered above them. Rebecca turned around and she and her friends screamed. They then ran past Emily and went back inside the school.
Emily noticed that the ruby brooch was on her feet, quickly picked it up, and pinned it to her jacket. She then shifted her gaze towards the winged beast.
"Oh good. I've always wanted to let loose after this," she muttered as she touched the ruby on her brooch.
Red light shined around her and transformed her clothes into a black suit and red armor. She stretched for a bit before she brought out her sword and assumed her battle stance.
