OBI-WAN

Wet. That's what the planet of Kamino was. Wet, miserable and far from what Obi-Wan Kenobi had been expecting.

A planet that had been removed from the archives had to have been of great importance, but with the rain pouring down and soaking through his hood, Obi-Wan couldn't think of why anyone would want to hide Kamino.

Perhaps whoever had removed Kamino from the archives had wished to stop someone suffering as Obi-Wan was now. That was the pleasant option, and unfortunately Obi-Wan knew it wasn't the right answer.

He sighed. Cold. Wet. A miserable place.

Still, it was not right to dwell on such things. Obi-Wan wouldn't allow the weather or the crashing waves blow to alter his mission. He had a job to do, and he would not fail his assignment.

A cold wind hit him as he reached the doors. He was soaked through, his robes a dreadful sight and his hair plastered to his scalp. It was a good thing Anakin wasn't there. He likely would have made a joke about the situation.

The door slid open and a tall, slender alien invited Obi-Wan inside. Obi-Wan managed a polite smile, then slipped out of the rain. The door shut as soon as he had crossed the threshold.

"Welcome to Tipoca City, Master Jedi," the alien said. "I am Taun We."

Obi-Wan blinked rain water from his eyes, resisting the urge to wipe his face. Compared to the dark storm outside, the white lights overhead were piratically blinding. Not that he could complain. Anything was better than the rain.

"Everything is ready. The Prime Minister is waiting," Taun We added.

Strange. Obi-Wan had not made any contact with the inhabitants prior to his arrival and no one had known about his assignment aside from the Council.

"I'm expected?" he asked with a frown.

"Of course." Although Obi-Wan couldn't state what it was exactly, something changed in Taun We's voice. She was smiling, but he couldn't help but shift under her gaze. "After all these years we were beginning to think you weren't coming."

Making sure he kept his expression relaxed, hiding his confusion, Obi-Wan straightened up and did his best to tidy his robes.

"This way please," Taun We said, turning to lead him further down the corridor. There didn't appear to be any traps or hostiles, so after pushing his hair back, Obi-Wan crossed his arms inside his sleeves and kindly followed.
