I woke up with a start, my head snapping up to the sound of a door opening. Pain radiated through my skull, the pounding in my head coming from near my temple. Closing my eyes against the pain, I held my head in my hands as someone approached. The scraping of chair legs made me groan, shifting my hands to my ears.

"Good. You're awake," a woman's voice came to me dryly. With one more groan, I opened my eyes. She sat across from me, beautiful dark skin and long, tight curls almost in an afro. "Who the hell are you?" I ground out as my gaze shifted over the room. I was in an interrogation room. "Detective Misty Knight," she introduced herself. "And you are Allison Drake," she added, dropping a file onto the table between us.

What happened? Why was I in an interrogation room? And then it came back to me like a flood. Elektra killing Stick. Her kicking all of our asses. Her taking Danny. Matt lying on the ground, unmoving. "Where's Matt?" I blurted out, fear pumping through my veins. I had never seen him go down like that. I mean, one punch? It usually took being nearly beaten to death for him to stop, and even that didn't always stop him.

"Are you referring to Matthew Murdock?" Misty asked me, one eyebrow raised. "No, Matt Damon. Yes, Matthew Murdock, okay? Where is he?" I barked at her, continuing to look around the room for the door. "Hey, you want to see him? You're gonna answer some questions first. Like why you were found knocked out near a dead man," Misty snapped at me. I shot her a hard glare that usually made people shrink back. But she didn't, she just held my gaze.

I was about to make another quippy comment when I remembered something. I had the right to an attorney. "Okay, you want answers? I want to see Matt. So," I started, clasping my hands on the table in front of me. "Here's how this is gonna go. Option one – you either take me to see Matt now, and I answer your questions after. Or, option two – I shut the hell up and ask for my lawyer, who just so happens to be Matt Murdock, and you get jack shit from me."

As I had been talking, Misty slowly began to glare at me. That just made me more confident, a triumphant smirk spreading over my lips. "Either way, I get what I want. The real question is, how badly do you want answers?" Misty seemed to contemplate my offer before sighing. "Mr. Murdock is currently unavailable," she told me.

My eyes flashed wide open as I stood from the chair. It clattered to the ground behind me and Misty jumped up, shifting to be between me and the door. One hand out towards me and the other ready to draw her gun, she explained. "He's still passed out. Now, we can have a seat and talk while we wait for him to wake up, or I can get some cuffs in here and make you sit down," Misty growled at me. I had a choice – either fight her to get to Matt or wait.

Taking a deep breath to calm my nerves, I slowly shifted back towards the table. Misty's stance changed to more relaxed as I picked up my chair and took a seat once more. "I've already talked to Jessica Jones. She won't tell me why I found all of you in a building with two bodies – one headless, and the other impaled. Wanna tell me about that?" she asked me. I gave a heavy sigh, shaking my head as I rubbed my temple.

Lucky for me, I didn't have to answer any of her questions because the door opened and another officer stuck his head in. "The lawyer's awake," he told Misty quickly before disappearing once more. My gaze snapped to Misty and I pressed my lips tightly together. She sighed at my resolve before standing. "Come on," she grumbled, heading for the door. I followed her quickly. "Five minutes," she told me, pointing to an open door just down the hall. I gave a curt nod before rushing forward.

I knew I was moving too fast but I didn't care. Bursting into the room, I only looked for the dark hair. The very well-dressed blonde-haired man didn't even register to me as I saw Matt jump to his feet. "Oh, thank God," I huffed out. "Allison," Matt muttered, relief flooding his voice as I hurried towards him.
