We were silent on the way down until Matt spoke. "10 stories left, give or take." I kept clenching and unclenching my fists in preparation as Luke shifted to the edge of the elevator and glanced down. "Anyone waiting for us?" he asked Matt, still looking down. "Yeah, about 30 of them. All of them armed. Including two of the ones we fought in the garage," he replied. Jessica glanced up. "And the old lady?" she asked us. "And the guy who speaks Japanese," Matt confirmed for her. "What about your ex-girlfriend?" she asked tactlessly. As least she got the ex part right. "Yeah," Matt confirmed softly.

"They knew we'd come for Danny," Luke grumbled. "Guys, this is... a lot worse than what we've face before," Matt huffed out nervously. "That's an understatement," Luke grumbled. "So how are we gonna handle it?" Jessica spoke up. I pushed off of the one solid wall of the elevator that I had been leaning against. "I got an idea, but you won't like it," I told her. She stared at me, one eyebrow raised before I began to explain.

Matt, Luke, and I were hiding in various spots on the outside of the elevator, waiting for it to stop moving as Jessica stood there alone. I remained still, listening intently since I knew lifting my head to see would let them know exactly where I was. "Okay. Don't shoot," Jessica greeted our enemies with a sigh when the elevator had finally stopped. Hearing the squeaking of metal, I knew she had pushed open the doors.

"Look, I don't give a shit what you guys are doing... down here in your secret cave thing. I just came to talk," Jessica started to explain in her usual bored tone. "You started this. Ever since you burst into my office, my life has become one big kung fu party. I don't want to fight you," Jessica explained, pausing. I felt my muscles coil, ready to strike when she gave the signal. "Alone." Yeah, that signal.

Matt, Luke, and I jumped from our hiding spaces, taking out as many nearby goons as we could. I caught sight of Jessica delivering a satisfying upper cut to Elektra as I knocked out my third goon. Men came rushing at us, all preferring their fists to any weapons they had on them. I was okay with this, kicking, striking, and punching everyone who came at me. A few managed to land some blows, but not hard enough to make me stumble.

"Let's go, Ironclad," I heard Jessica say as I had a chance to look around. She was helping Danny to his feet. "It's Iron Fist," he reminded her. "I know," was her response as she rushed back into battle. I chuckled at her dry humor as the five of us continued to fight the thirty-some goons that kept rushing at us. "They're gonna destroy the city," Danny called to all of us as the many goons got to their feet, all of us back-to-back. "Now tell me something I don't know," Luke grumbled in response.

"Once they get what they way, this place is gonna crumble," Danny added. I smirked then, drawing my knives for the first time in this fight. "Then let's take it from them," I growled, the heat of battle making my blood boil with adrenaline. "Where's Alexandra?" Matt asked as the goosn began to stand. "She's dead," Danny explained. "Did you kill her?" Jessica asked quickly as the goons began to part. "No. She did," he replied as Elektra stepped forward, Gao and the Asian man behind her. They were blocking the elevator.

"Is that elevator the only way out of here?" Jessica asked as we all prepared to continue. "Yep," Matt huffed as I noticed Elektra glaring hard at me. Why was she glaring at me in particular? "We can't leave. We have to end them," Danny insisted. "We've got a plan," Luke explained vaguely. "Yeah, it involves bombs. You're cool with bombs, right?" Jessica grumbled to Danny. "Seriously?" he asked her as my eyes remained locked with Elektra's.

"The only way out of here is together," Matt huffed as Elektra and the Asian man stepped back while Gao stepped forward. "Danny, light it up. Now," Luke told him evenly. Danny stepped forward, getting into a fighting stance as his fist began to glow yellow once more. Gao dropped her walking stick, attacking by shoving her hand out. While that had worked on us before, it hadn't collided with Danny's fist before. The impact sent Gao and the rest of our enemies flying backwards. Many of them groaned, shoving themselves back to their feet. And then it began.
