Chapter 1 Chance meetings

Long ago in another world there was a girl created by the great lion Aslan himself, by a single star. She was made with power that could challenge the White Witch herself, and because of that Jadis wanted her dead. Seeing as Narnia was no longer safe for her, the great lion made a portal from his world to another and sent her through it. "You are made for greatness, dear heart. But for now I must let you go. Do not fret young one for I will still be with you, until the very end." Aslan walked up to the end of the wardrobe opposite to the daughter of eve he has trusted his own daughter to.

"Will you keep her safe?" The golden lion questioned "until the prophecy can begin." He added letting the female take his daughter off his back.

"I promise to keep her safe even if it means putting my life in danger."

"You are very brave Polly, I trust she shall be well off with you." He told her before looking to his daughter.

"We will be reunited one day Vivian but for now it is not safe for you here, goodbye." He licked the to of her head and she giggled and he gave the faintest of smiles, then walked away disappearing into the falling snow. Polly turned and walked out of the wardrobe the three and a half year old in her arms.
"Your future is brighter than ever Vivian." Miss Plummer kissed the top of her now adopted child's head and walked to her carriage saying goodbye to Diggory and leaving for her home.

••11 years later••
(Vivian's P.O.V.)
"Muuumm! Do I really have to go there's only been a few bombs that have landed here." I groaned as she pinned the label to my cardigan. She grabbed the sides of my shoulders and looked me in the eyes.
"I know darling but a few could turn into a lot more and I can't have you getting hurt, I made a promise to your father that I would keep you safe. Now come on you have to get going."

"You always talk about my father as if he were a hero yet he abandoned me, and I know he said it was for my own protection. Still what could have been so bad that he would have had to send my away for so long?" I questioned. She merely sighed
"you know very well I can't tell you that, now come on" she started dragging me through the sea of people in the Cambridge train station. We finally made it to the ticket line
" I guess this is goodbye." I said to her sadly.
"For now darling, for now but wars don't last forever we'll be together again before you know it." She told be before pulling me into a hug.
"I love you mum." I told her tears cascading down my cheeks.
"I love you too Viv. Don't cry be brave." She told my crouching down to my height and wiping my tears away.
"But I'm sacred." I told her truthfully.
"Being brave and being fearless and two different things entirely Vivian, you can be brave yet still be scared. It shows how strong you are. Now go on you'll miss the train." She said reluctantly pushing me forward slightly. I walked forward and handed my ticket to the lady collecting them, she inspected my tag and pointed to me which way to go.

I boarded the train and looked out the window searching for my mother, once I found her the train was already starting to leave. I stuck my head and hand out the window waving to her
"goodbye." I shouted to her waving.
"Goodbye my darling." She mouthed to me waving tears falling from her eyes.

The train had been going along for some time when it stopped in another station to pick up more children. I saw an adult passing through so I stopped him
"Sir. If you don't mind me asking, where are we?" I asked.
"We're in Finchly." He told me then continued walking down the isle way. I continued to stare out the window when I was taken out of my trance by the compartment door sliding open.
Four children walked in two girls and two boys, the youngest looked about seven and the oldest about sixteen. I smiled at them but they didn't seem to notice me or were trying not to. After a few minutes of sitting in awkward tension I stood up to get something from my suitcase.
"What are you doing." The oldest asked from his seat across from me.
"Umm getting my trunk." I said in an obvious tone. "But why we aren't going to be at the first stop for about another two hours." The blonde clarified.
"I wanted to get some thing out of it and it's going to be a lot longer than two hours for me." I responded
"What do you mean?" Squeaked a voice to my right. I sat down with my trunk in my lap looked to the youngest girl and smiled
"I mean that I'm going to the literal middle of nowhere." I spoke to her with humor in my voice and she giggled. I began to dig through my things.
"what are you looking for?" Asked an older feminine voice. It was the oldest girl who had looked about fifteen.
"Something to cure my boredom. Ah here we go!" I replied taking out my flute like instrument. (A/N pretty much Mr.Tumnus's flute thing)
"What even is that?" A snarky voice came from the other side of the compartments. I looked over to see the boy who I thought was about my age staring at me with the same scowl on his face that he had when he entered the small room on the the train.
"I'm not too sure actually but it sounds pretty. My mother said it was a gift from someone called Mr.Tumnus but I don't recall getting it." I told him inspecting the wooden instrument like I had never seen it before.
"Funny thing actually I once had a dream that a faun gave it to me as a parting gift, but that was a long time ago." I laughed lightly at the idea.
"Can you play it?" The young girl asked me looking at the instrument in wonder.
"Of course!" I smiled at her then put the flute like thing to my mouth and started to play a tune I knew well but never knew why. (A/N video on the side listen from the beginning- 2:08 just pay attention to the flute parts)
When I was finished I looked to the children, they all just stared at my surprised even the raven haired boy swapped his scowl for a look of shock.
"That was... Wonderful! Where did you learn that?" The youngest was the first to speak up.
"I'm not sure ever since I was old enough I just could, never learned though." I told her sheepishly
"I just realize I never introduced myself. I'm Vivian Plummer." I said to the four.
"Lucy Pevensie" the small girl next to me said holding out her hand which I shook.
"Peter." The blonde informed me. I shook his hand.
"Susan." The girl next to Lucy smiled and I returned it seeing that we could not shake hands.
I looked towards the last boy for his name, and when he hadn't said anything the oldest Pevensie elbowed him.
"Ow!" He whined to the his brother who only nodded in my direction.
"Edmund." He mumbled angrily glaring at me and his brother. Suddenly the train stopped. I looked out the window and saw the familiar landscape.
"I was very very lovely to meet you all but this is my stop." I told them standing up with my trunk in hand. Peter looked out the window then down at his label.
"This is our stop too..." He trailed off.
"That's wired there's only one house near here and that's where I'm going the others are miles off and most likely have their own station, which must mean..." I trailed off and smiled at the children.

We got off the train and we're all standing at the platform when a motor car pass by the Pevensie's were about to go after it but I stopped them.
"It's not for us. If I remember correctly Diggory would have sent Mrs.Mecreedy to fetch us, and because there are five of us she should be coming in horse drawn carriage."
"How do you know so much about this?" Susan asked.
"Because I've been here before." I told her. A few moments later Mrs. Mecreedy arrived.
"Hello, lovely to see you again Mrs. Mecreedy." I said waving.
"Indeed miss." She said her mouth curving upwards slightly, she always had a bit of a soft spot for me.
"Is this is then haven't you brought anything else." She addressed the others putting her strict demeanor back on.
"No m'am, just us." Responded Peter shyly.
"Small favors." She muttered to herself. Mecreedy nodded her head towards the carriage telling us to get on. Peter was the first up, helping the rest of us on. Except for Edmund who insisted on doing it himself. The ride there was quite boring, it was all jut grass planes until we got close enough to see the mansion. I tapped Lucy on the shoulder and she turned to look at me.
"That's where we're staying." I told her pointing to the manor. She gasped then smiled. Eventually we all got inside and Mrs. Mecreedy told the children the rules.
"Now that you know the rules for staying here, Vivian can show you to your rooms."
I led the group down the hall.
"They're right over here, boys on the left girls on the right. We can all unpack then I'll tell you a little more 'bout this place." I ordered heading into the girls room. I quickly unpacked and went to change into my sleepwear. When I got back all of the Pevensie's were in the girls room listening to a radio talk about the war, I walked quickly over to the radio and shut it off after seeing Lucy looked as if she was about to cry.
"The sheets feel scratchy." Lucy complained clearly upset about more things than the sheets.
"Wars don't last forever Lu, we'll be back home soon." Peter comforted the youngest.
"If home's still there." The two oldest and I shot Edmund deadly glares to shut him up, and it worked.
"Shouldn't you be in bed." Susan scolded.
"Yes mum." He sasses pulling a face before walking to his room.
"You saw the size of this place, we'll be able to do whatever we like. It'll be great, really." The blonde told her smiling lightly. Soon the oldest left and we all went to sleep. Tomorrow was going to be wonderful.
