It was a beautiful morning in spring. The sun was shining brightly and it was already warm outside. There were no clouds up in heaven. Only a small breeze blew through the branches of the trees which stood on the other side of the road.
They could see through the window people walking happily down the street, eating some ice cream.
After feeding Rosie and eating some pancakes which Mrs. Hudson had baked for them, Sherlock, John and Rosie went for a walk.
Sherlock was sitting on a bench and read a newspaper. John had brought some bread which he gave to Rosie to feed pigeons.
While she was feeding them, John sat down next to Sherlock on the bench and watched his daughter having fun with the birds.
Suddenly a white cat with some orange spots jumped out of the shrubs, which were next to a bin, and tried to attack the pigeons. Rosie was a bit shocked about seeing it turning up so unexpectedly and went some steps back to her father.
After a while she started to like the cat and sneaked up to it to play with it.
She found it very funny and laughed a lot!
John took a photo of them and uploaded it to his blog, using the hashtag OhWhatABeautifulMorning.
After that Sherlock jumped of the bench and said that it was time to go home again to bring their little girl to the preshool.
Rosie didn't want to leave the cat at the street and asked to take it home. John liked the cat too and looked at Sherlock to see what he thought about it. Sherlock nodded and smiled back to them. So they took the white cat home as a pet.
<<John? Do we really want to keep it?>>, Sherlock asked curios while he was giggling and pointing with his finger at the baby cat.
<<Rosie likes it. And to be honest I like the cat too.>>, John confessed somewhat shyly.
<<Yeah, me too.>>, Sherlock responded as fast as he always said something what he wouldn't admit to himself.
<<What?>>, John asked confused.
<<Well, I mean. If Rosie likes it... And you too, of course. What speaks against keeping it?>>, he explained.
<<You said you like the cat.>>, John said and smiled at his friend like he always did it.
<<Yeah, fine. I like it.>>, he confessed, <<But we need to get it checked by a vet!>>
John agreed.
<<But first of all look at the cat. Anything special?>>, the Consulting Detective asked him.
<<Sherl-, what's wrong with it?>>, John asked tensed.
<<Look! The fur, John. I didn't want to say it earlier or in front of her.>>, he mumbled softly.
<<What's wrong with the fur?>>, the former soldier asked more confused.
<<Nothing. But I found this in it.>>, he answered and showed him a tiny wiretapping.
<<Oh no, Sherlock.>>, John whispered outraged.
<<I switched it out, but for safety's sake we should do this:>>, Sherlock said and dropped the device in a cup of tea.
<<Let's talk about it later. We're late.>>, Sherlock continued.
John agreed and they took Rosie and the cat to bring the girl to the preschool and the cat to the vet.
Rosie didn't cry because of being left alone from her dads and started to play with her friend, Tim.
The men went to the veterinary practice and after they had to wait a few minutes the vet checked the cat.
<<So, is it fine?>>, John asked curious.
<<It? Well, "it" is a "he". A Male-cat. And he is amazingly healthy. For a street cat.>>, the doctor explained, <<He's completely fine. I vaccinated him and I'll give you a passport, it contains his vaccinations and his approximate age. You just have to add his name.>>
On the way home they talked about Rosie and after they brought the cat to his new home they bought something for him: a scratching post, a blanket, cat food and toys.
At home, they set up the cat tree in the living room and decorated everything for him.
He immediately felt comfortable and slept for a few hours.
John went to work and left Sherlock with his thoughts alone.
The Consulting Detective was a bit shocked about this wiretapping, because he thought that there were no enemies left.
He questioned himself, who did need any information by using a wiretapping device.
