"Which shirt?" Rafe asked me as he walked out of his closet. His toned body on full display for me. I looked him up and down for a moment before I replied.
"Blue one." I said pointing to the blue shirt I'm his right hand. I watched his muscles move as he pulled the shirt over his head and down his body.
"You ready to go?" He asked me once his shirt was on. He bent down to grab his keys and phone.
"Yup lets go." I smiled and hopped off his bed. We were going to get lunch at the wreck today. They were doing a charity event today and part of the money they make today is going towards a cancer foundation that's on the mainland.

"We gonna take your truck?" I asked Rafe as we both walked down the porch steps.
"Yeah sure." He said unlocking the big truck. Like all of his things it was brand new. Clean and in perfect shape for a truck.
I played the only radio station the OBX had. It was a variety of popular songs through out the decades. The wreck wasn't to far into the cut. Just right where the cut began and were the kook side of the island stopped. Hopefully my best friends, JJ, Pope, Kiara and John B would be there. I was a kook along with Kiara and luckily they let us tag along with them. Ever since freshmen year when I met John B us five teens were inseparable. However then I started dating Rafe. It was a big problem with my group of friends but they came around to it. At least I think they did. If they didn't they just didn't tell me.
The truck came to a stop in a parking spot. I immediately got out. I was hungry and excited to maybe see my friends. "Come on." I said pulling Rafe along inside the building. He laughed at me.
"Babe it's ok. We can't be late or anything." He laughed.
"Yeah but the pogues might be here!" I said excited. I didn't even turn back to see his face I just kept walking to the host stand.
"Hi table for two." I smiled at the middle aged lady.
"Alright right this way." She said grabbing menus and led us to a table outside. The outside deck had a great view of the water and the boats that passed by.
"Thank you." I told the lady as she left.
"I'm starving." I mumbled as I grabbed a menu and gave Rafe his.
"Same I'm thinking a burger." He said eyeing the menu. That did sound good. I was gonna get the spinach ravioli but a burger sounded better.
"Ok I know what I want." I smiled happily and set my menu down. Rafe flamed you from his to look at me.
"What are you getting?" He asked me.
"A burger." I said taking a sip of my water. He nodded his head with a laugh.
"Me too." He said and placed his menu down. I went to say something again but got cut off from a group of boys being loud.
"Y/n!" I heard my name called. I turned to see John B, JJ, and pope all rushing towards me. I grew excited that they were here and immediately stood up from my seat.
"Hey boys." I said as I hugged them all quickly.
"Hey y/n." JJ smiled at me.
"Is Kie working? I haven't seen her yet?" I asked them.
"Yeah she gets off soon. Wanna is together?" John B asked hopeful. I glanced from him to Rafe. It got awkward around us.
"Uh I'm here with Rafe actually." I said looking back to Rafe. Rafe didn't even make a face at the pogues but I wasn't surprised.
"Oh. Heyy Rafe." John B said awkwardly with a wave. Rafe just gave him a tight lipped smile.
"You know what actually? Let's all sit together." I said and gave the pogues a look to agree with me.
I helped them move a table and chairs next to ours and sat down with everyone. Soon Kiara came out and looked almost shocked to see us all together.
"Hey guys and y/n." Kie smiled at everyone. She was the most civil around Rafe. She gave him a nod and a small smile.
"Soo." Pope said tapping his fingers against the table. I coughed in akwardness.
"Rafe how are you?" Kie asked me trying to get us talking. Bad idea Kie. Bad idea. I knew her asking him that would start shit.
"I'm good. You-." But Rafe was cut off from JJ.
"Really Kie? Why even care about how Rafe is?" JJ said annoyed.
"J." I whispered trying to get him to stop.
"No y/n! Fuck like why? We don't like him and he doesn't like us let's just not try to act like everything's fine!" He said standing up from his chair. I hugged and stood up with him. I placed my hand on his arm.
"JJ lets go out back yeah? I don't wanna cause a scene." I said trying to get him to move to a more private spot. He rolled his eyes but I watched him walk to the back of the building and down the docks.
I made the other three pogues and Rafe follow me. "Just Wait here." I told them all as I walked closer to JJ.
"J what's going on?" I asked him as I came up to him. He ran his hands down his face.
"I can't tell you." He sighed. I gave him a look of confusion.
"Why can't you tell me? We're best friends we tell each other everything." I said nudging his shoulder.
"If I tell you this it will hurt you. And- and I can't lose you." He said as I watched his eyes get sad.
"J tell me please." I said.
"I like you." He stated firmly. He liked me? Well I'd hope so.
"I hope so were best friends." I said laughing a little. He shook his head though.
"No like I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you since you made me save that snapping turtle on the side of road." He said. I loved that memory of us two but I had a more important issue to think of then a turtle.
"You what?" Came a angry and gruff voice behind me. Rafe. He must've heard us.
"Rafe." I said turning around to see him pissed. JJ turned around also.
"You love her? You do know she's my girlfriend right?" Rafe said getting in JJ face. I didn't want a fight to start.
"Guys please stop." I begged them.
"You know what rafe? Yeah I do. I fucking love her! I love you way more then you ever will!" JJ said shoving Rafes chest. That set it off for Rafe and he threw a punch at JJ.
"Rafe no!" I screamed. Before a second went by JJ was back up and punching Rafe now. I wanted to stop them but I couldn't do anything. If I got in between them I'd end up getting hit. Oh fuck it!
"Stop!" I cried and pushed my hands against both boys chest. I held my arms out so they didn't go back to hitting each other. I'm honestly surprised I didn't once get in the way of a punch.
"God you guys!" I cried at them looking back and forth between the two.
"You're mine." Rafe growls out.
"Rafe calm down ok? I'm not leaving you alright? Please just calm down. JJ I understand you have these feelings for me but I need you to understand that I don't feel the same way. J your my best friend. I'm sorry but-." Except he cut me off.
"But you love Rafe. I know." JJ mumbled sadly. I let my arms fall back to my sides.
"I'll talk to you guys later ok? I-I need to go." I said and ran off down the dock. I didn't wanna face anyone right now.
I leaned again Rafes truck as I waited for him to catch up to me.
"Babe." He said as he stood in front of me now. I looked up at him with tears in my eyes.
"I don't wanna hurt him but I also don't wanna hurt you!" I cried into Rafes chest. He held me tight against him.
"I know baby. I know." He sighed and kissed my hair.
"I'm not leaving you Rafe ok? Fuck I fell in love you so hard." I said picking my head up to look him in the eyes. He smiled down at me and caressed my face.
"I love you too." He mumbled and kiss my lips.
