February 2028-May 2028It was late February, the second half of the season was in full swing and the Stars were going through a tough stretch of mostly road games. The Jamie's along with the rest of the Stars were currently on their East Coast Road Swing. They had started by winning back to back games against the Isles and Rangers and were now on their way to play the Devils, likely extending their winning streak to three. You missed Benn immensely and wished he was there with you keeping you company, instead your constant companion was that darn morning sickness. It was very intense every single morning, you had asked D if she had experienced the same intensity. She said it was as intense as yours but it had mellowed out by the time she was at the stage you were at right now. That was just your luck, you had a phobia of vomiting and of course you were the one that had to have a severe case of morning sickness. You were constantly exhausted as well but thankfully the baseball season was still a month away from returning allowing you to work from home mostly and trying to catch up on rest. Just as you were about to doze off for your afternoon nap your phone starts to ring. You grab your phone and see that Benn is FaceTiming you. Ugh seriously, I look like a total disaster why can't he just call or text me. You run your fingers through your hair and tuck some strands behind your ears trying to look a bit more presentable before answering the call.
"Hey meine Liebling!"
"Hey Chubbs, how's it going over there?"
"Woah...when's the last time you saw some sunlight over there?"
"Shut up! It's all your fault I feel and look like this." You half smile at him
"Aww I'm sorry, has the morning sickness been really bad today?" A look of concern on his face
"Yeah, but I'm happy you called. I feel a bit better now that I can see your stupidly handsome face. You guys ready to beat the Devils tonight?"
"Well you know we are just gonna try and play our game, focus on our style and pretty much just try and get those pucks in deep." Jamie jokes around with all those sport cliches. You can't help but chuckle. "Aww there's that smile I've been missing. I don't have much time but I just wanted to call and check in on how you were doing."
"Thanks gummibärchen, I'm doing alright. I can't wait until you come back."
"Me either I've been counting down the days. I don't think I can wait any longer!" A look of excitement washes over his face.
"It's not that exciting, it's just an ultrasound appointment. Probably won't be able to see much, just a whole bunch of black and white squiggly lines."
"It doesn't matter, just being able to hear the heartbeat is enough for me to get excited! Well I gotta go, I love you! You better watch our game for good luck, remember I can tell when you don't watch our games."
"No you can't." He gives you a stern look "okay okay I promise I'll watch it. Give them Hell tonight." You crack up at your joke of giving the devils hell and Benn just eye rolls at your cheesy joke. You say your i love you's and goodbyes and end the call.
The next thing you knew their road trip was over and Benn was on his way over from the airport to pick you up. They had a pretty successful road trip going 4-1, the lone loss coming against the Bruins at TD Garden. You couldn't complain, Benn on the other hand knowing the Bruins were your second favorite team would have definitely preferred to lose against the Maple leafs instead. Today was the day you and Benn were going to go to the Doctors so you could finally see and hear the little bean growing inside of you. Or so you thought.

"Woah, look at this poster. Isn't it crazy how babies grow inside a mother's belly."
"Yeah sure...looks like a lot of fun." You try your best to avoid looking at anything on the wall that has to do with giving birth.
