Future Chapter 18: January 2029 - Mum's Game

"D! What's up??"

"Hey Ana! Are you busy?"

"Always but what's up?"

"The boys are playing Boston next week and you owe me a mum's only game."

"Yesssssssss!!! I've been wanting to see a Boston game. They have this little rookie on there who can shoot like mad and makes me feel things."

"I know exactly who you're talking about and yes!! I just wanna mama bird him." Jamie walked behind me just then and kissed the back of my neck as he walked by.

"Who are you talking about?"

"Hold up Ana. That rookie on Boston that's already got the most goals this season."

"Pft...that guy is a chump. I could take him out in two hits probably," Jamie scoffed.

"Aww don't worry baby. You're still the best looking guy on the ice in my eyes."

"Soooo....the game?" Ana turned my attention back to the matter at hand.

"Yes! So you, me, drinks, no kids, next week?"

"Yes, please!"

We got jackets made especially for the game. Overkill? Probably. But worth it. "Oleksiak" on mine in colored Rhinestones, a big Stars logo, Dallas Stars pins, outlined sticks and pucks and a pin with my Jamie's face on it. On Ana's, Benn in white rhinestones, also with Dallas pins, the logo, outlined hockey gear and a pin with her Jamie's face on it. Both of us made up in glitter and red lipstick. We were ready for a good time.

The minute we walked into the building, we made a beeline for the drinks stand. "Two shots of Pink Whitney and a Corona each stat!" I proclaimed elegantly to the man behind the counter. He looked at us both like he knew exactly how the night was about to end. We downed our Whitney's, grabbed the Corona and went down to the glass. The music was nice and loud and we were definitely feeling it.

Just then it was time for the boys to come out and we hooped and hollered as if it was our first game. Ana got her camera out and started getting pictures of everything. At one point, the boys came up to us and we got a selfie of the 4 of us. My Jamie got right up to the glass and I kissed the part where his face was. He just laughed at me and skated away. They went back to their warmups and Ana and I went back to talk yelling to each other. Out of nowhere a puck flew right towards us and hit the glass. I jumped 15 feet out of my seat and looked to see Benn laughing to himself. After warmups, we went back for another shot and Corona. We were in it to win it.

Our buzz and vibe kept up through most of the game and we cheered our boys to being up 3-1 in the third. But then, our little baby crush came out of nowhere and scored twice in 30 seconds. We tried our best to hate him but couldn't manage it. But, the Stars went into OT and Benn got one past Boston's goalie. When the red light went on, Ana and I jumped up and down, happy that our team won.

Afterwards, we went down into the tunnel to catch up with our guys. They were still in full gear and it was clear that Ana was still rocking her buzz. When she saw Benn, she went right up to him, grabbed him by the jersey and planted a big one right on his face. When she finally let him go he had a smudge of lipstick going from his top lip and into his beard.

Jamie and I laughed as he bent down to kiss me. I grabbed his head and left a very visible kiss mark on his cheek too.

"Why?"

"Because I just love you so much Big Rig," I winked and smacked his hockey butt.

"We're gonna go change, see you ladies in a bit." Benn said as they scooted into their locker room.

"Okay babe, I love you soooo much!! Don't forget me!!" Ana yelled it so loud, I would not have been surprised if the opposing team heard her. All I could do was giggle. I felt like we were uncontrollable school girls waiting for our crushes to pick us up for prom. As we sat in the hallway, we could see our baby crush leaving the locker room in his suit. I made the mistake of pointing it out to Ana. "Hey! Hey kid!! Good job tonight! Your face is good!"

"Sorry!" I yelled back to him."God, I hope his English is still awful." He returned our craziness with an adorable side smile and wave. "D, I think we just met my next husband."

"Your next who?" Benn appeared in his suit and wet hair.

"Oh don't worry gummibarchen. You'll be my favorite first husband ever. Great shot by the way." I loved seeing Ana like this. She wasn't often loud but when she was it was a show. Out of nowhere, Benn picked her up and they started jeering each other and laughing as we all walked down to the cars. I think Benn enjoyed her buzz almost as much as she did. Occasionally, Ana would start shouting again but all we could understand was "SOOOOOOOO MUCH!"  Jamie and I held hands in silence all the while, laughing at the goofy silhouette in front of us. He was partially keeping me up and leading me as the alcohol buzz started to wear off and I was getting exhausted.
