"Hey Ana, have you heard from Benn yet? The boys got in a few hours ago."

"I did. He texted me right when they landed. How's your Jamie?"

"Good. We just ate and had a nap. I tried talking to him about the picture but he didn't want to. I tried to seem cool with it but it's not easy. I'm sure we'll get past it. I'm just a little frustrated."

"I understand why you're frustrated. Honestly, these boys can be so daft sometimes when it comes to dealing with their emotions. I just got a text from my Jamie for drinks with some of the guys from the team. Are you coming out too?"

"I don't think so. Jamie wasn't happy to hear that but he's going."

"Aw c'mon D. You can't leave me alone with these two dum dums. You should come!! You're really going to miss out on a night with your boo??" You said in your most whiny voice, hoping it would convince D to come.

"I know. It's not a great idea but I'm not going to be much fun."

You had been friends with D for a long time and with that response you knew she hoped you would understand her decision and not press her any further.

"Do you want me to stay with you instead? We could watch New Girl or something. Have a girls' night!"

"No, go have fun with Benn. I'm sure he's missing you."

"Okay. Enjoy your night. I'll keep an eye on your Jamie. Don't you think for one second that I'm gonna let him try and avoid this important talk with you. I'm gonna try and get Benn to talk some sense into him."

"Haha, you're crazy! Thanks but it's okay. Go and have fun!"

"Thanks boo, I'll talk to you soon."

You hung up the phone trying to think of a way to nudge both D and Jamie into talking this through. You knew she was going to regret not going out later but you were happy to get the boys to yourself tonight.

---

You had decided on wearing a sundress with thin straps and a hem that fell slightly past your knee with cute tan wedge heeled sandals. You curled your hair and decided on leaving it down. It was rare that you wore dresses, often preferring T-shirts and shorts. But you couldn't help but dress up, especially having not seen Benn for quite some time and finally going out for drinks. You and D were not the typical WaGs which always made both of you feel a bit insecure about your physical appearances but in some crazy turn of events, here you both were dating not only Jamies but professional hockey players as well. From what D had told you about her trip to surprise JO in NYC and the thoughtful gift he had given her, you couldn't deny his strong feelings for her and you hoped you and your Jamie were heading down the same path. You parked your MINI in front of the hotel and you made your way up to Jamie's room. When you knocked on the door it opened almost immediately to reveal a smiling, half-dressed Jamie in an unbuttoned shirt and hair still disheveled. Wow...how can someone look so handsome while still being nowhere close to being ready to head out on a night on the town.

"Ana!" A smile spread across his face that made your heart flutter in your chest.

"Jamie! You're here!" His large frame overpowering yours as he wrapped you up in a hug and soon lifted you off your feet. Once he set you down, he planted a kiss on your cheek, his beard tickling your face, and moved past you to close the door.

"Come in. Go ahead and sit down. I'm almost ready." You sat on the edge of the bed and watched as Jamie did his hair in the mirror, wishing that you were the one running your fingers through his hair. His beard was a bit longer than when you met him in January. You dubbed it his 'trucker beard' and even though you normally didn't like beards, Jamie was the only one who could pull it off. When he felt like he got his hair the way he wanted it, he started clearing up some of the mess laying around. "So...that letter of yours."
