Day gasped as she came back to her sense. The pendent did hold memories. Memories she had just seen. Maybe it held memories which were important. Now, things were getting real, and it was hard to face reality. She didn't want to let her past intrude into her present and affect her future.
But now, she had to reconcile the two to get to the roots of all this. Her past wasn't all bad, to come to think of it, but it wasn't very pleasant either. As much as she loved her parents, she certainly hated how they used to conceal things from her but let Autumn know all about it. It definitely wasn't very pleasing, but then she learnt to console herself that she was the youngest and perhaps she wasn't ready and liable to know 'things' just yet.
She looked at her fallen pendent and then remembered her father's words. 'Never take it off. Never.'
But it had just fallen down from her neck, she didn't take it off on purpose, she never has. However, it did come off her neck, but will it prove to be dangerous for her? Perhaps yes, perhaps not. The result was yet to be known.
"Waz happenin'?" Her classmate asked her in his unusually attractive accent as he entered the classroom before Day could bent and pick up her necklace. His long chestnut hair, matching equally with his bright eyes, swayed in the wind, just like an anime character.
"Nothing, my pendent fell down, hope it's not damaged, it's gifted to me by my mom," she stood silently there for a moment and then heaved a deep sigh somehow scared to pick her pendent up.
"Your mom..is she.." Jimone left his sentence unfinished.
"Yes.." Day nodded.
"So sorry to hear 'bout 'at."
"It's okay. Totally cool." Day forced a smile on her lips.
Suddenly, she felt a cold substance on her chest. Day looked down and saw her pendent, and felt a pair of hand setting her hair back to its place. She spun around as quick as a flash.
"Heymish!"
Heymish put up his hands in surrender. "Didn't mean to scare you, I had noticed that pendent earlier, so obviously knew it was yours," he went to his desk and placed down his bag, "plus you're the only girl around here at the moment."
"You've been noticing me," Day teased, playing her eyes with a wink.
"He sits beside you," Jimone added sarcastically, "and he is surely gonna look down at ya treasures."
"Oh no, you just didn't!" Heymish punched Jimone's muscular biceps playfully, he then turned to Day, "A bit too early, aren't you?"
"Yeah, I walked."
"Alone?"
"Well, yes."
"It's not safe, you know. Never walk alone, gimme your hand," he took her hand into his and scribbled his number on her palm, "here, take my number, and call me. I'll walk with you from tomorrow onwards, just to be on the safe side."
"Mmhmm," she eyed him teasingly.
"Look who's bein' protective here."
"Jimone, you know this place better than anyone, right? How can she walk alone at 7 when school starts at 10? And it's barely daylight? Huh? Yes I am being protective, but why shouldn't I, she is precious." He looked at Day and sighed softly, it felt like an angel was watching over her, she felt like she's on cloud 9.
"Hands down dude."
