Heymish caught an eye of the red rashes appearing all over Day's body as he carried her in his arms to the Sick Bay which was used for students who either get sick or injured at unexpected times. He put her down on the bed with delicate hands as the school nurse, Mrs. Irai, a Japanese herbs and medic specialist inspected her with her vigilant eyes.
"Young man, could you please wait outside while I examine this young lady?" She had a strong Japanese accent as she spoke.
"Sure, ma'am." Heymish complied by her command as he walked out of the sick bay. He took a seat on the bench provided outside the room, rubbing the palms of his hands anxiously as he waited for the nurse to call him back. He couldn't leave Day alone, though she was being treated. Deep inside, he felt like he couldn't protect her. Somehow, he felt guilty.
After perhaps 10 minutes or so, Mrs. Irai came down to Heymish and placed a small pat on his shoulder. "Young man, what's your name, and the patient's? I have to fill out the form."
"Ma'am my name is Heymish, and she is Day," he said gesturing to Day who was still unconcious, lying down on the bed. As Mrs. Irai proceeded inside the room, Heymish called out to her, "Ma'am, what happened to her? And is she going to be alright?"
The nurse turned and smiled, "Well, she should be, I think it's maybe tiredness or the sun. Is she, by any chance allergic to sunlight?"
"I don't really know." Heymish shrugged, feeling disappointed that he didn't know anything about Day, except that she was the most beautiful creature, from both inside and out that he has ever met.
"Well, it's totally fine," Mrs. Irai said calmly, knowing that Heymish was disappointed, "She will regain conciousness in a while, I suppose before the siren for the ending of the last period goes out, till then, I reckon you go back to your class. It's the third period now."
Heymish smiled weakly and walked towards the assembly square to join his friends with a restless feeling settling down in his heart. He saw no-one when he reached there. Maybe they got called back, another excuse to stay with Day.
He turned back to go back to Day but stopped after a few strides. What if any of his subject teachers saw him? He'd surely get into trouble since it was still class time. But he decided to take the risk. He walked along the posts of the college verandahs, trying not to be seen. Suddenly, he heard footsteps which gradually became louder. Each stride sounded heavy yet calm. He looked around for a cover to hide from whoever was comig towards him. Luckily, for Heymish, he was near the boys' change room. With his speed as fast as a blow of wind, he sprinted into the boys' change room.
He, as quick as a flash, hid himself behind the door, leaning on the wall. He looked outside through the space between the door and wall only to see a short, heavy man, whom Heymish recognized as a canteen worker, stroll past. "All this for nothing," he complained sullenly between his clenched teeth.

He knocked on the door of the sick bay as Mrs. Irai was attending to yet another student who had fractured his leg during his P.E class. Heymish noted his P.E uniform and the plaster that was on his right leg. Mrs. Irai paused from checking for other injuries to the boy and her attention diverted to Heymish.
"Hey-" She stared blankly at Heymish, obviously forgetting his name.
"Mish." Heymish completed. "Is she OK now?" he inquired.
"Ahh, Heymish, well isn't it your class time? You're not allowed to be here at this time of the day unless you're sick or injured. Are you any of the two?"
"No."
"I had expected that to be your answer. And as for your friend, I don't really now. The antibiotics are not working , the rashes as still as red, he still hasn't regained conciousness and and her heartbeat-"
"Her heartbeat?"
"It isn't regular, it's sometimes too fast and sometimes it is too slow."
"Can you take her to the hospital?" His voice cracked in worry and his sweat tricked down his neck.
"I have called. But as there are no real injuries and no bleeding so there can be nothing done but just to follow basic health safety rules and precautions but I am fraid that if she doesn't regain conciousness, we have to get her admitted to the hospital."
"Ma'am, can I stay here with Day?"
She eyed him suspiciously.
"I am excused," he blurted out before she could conclude anything.
"Young love, I see." She smiled and then started to attend to the boy again.
Heymish stepped into the room and walked directly towards Day, he grabbed the stool and took a seat beside the bed she was lying on. He looked at her, dreamingly. Her pale skin and her plump lips were harmonious against each other, and the dark hair added the hint of dream and mystery to her looks. Her eyes were closed and he could see how long her eye lashes were, how relaxed she looked, how sharp her jawline was, even the rashes couldn't harm her beauty. She seemed so delicate yet so strong and powerful. She looked so tamed and yet so wild. He didn't know why. All he knew that that's what he liked- loved about her.
He took her hand delicately into his and whispered to her, he wanted a reply from him. He wanted to talk to her. "Wake up Day." He whispered, paused as he waited for her reply and then contined when he didn't get any, "You look beautiful today, Day. Your hair, your eyes, your cheeks, your lips, everything about you is perfect," he sighed deeply, "I think I - I am falling in love with you, but I think it's too soon. I don't know how you'll take it, but yeah, I think I love you."
"To think of it, I know I love you, but do you love me? Ugh, what am I saying...why do I feel pulled towards you? Like gravity? Do you feel it too? This sounds so cocky but I see pain in your eyes but I don't know the reason why it's there. And I want to eliminate it from your beautiful eyes..if you allow me too. I am not sure if I am the right one but -" Day's phone rang loudly. Heymish quickly took if out of her purse which was still dangling across her chest.
Autumn. He recieved the call after contemplating whether he should answer or not.
"Happy Birthday D!! O.M.G you are 18 already! I know you are excited since you are finally of the age! I know it's stupid of me to say it over phone but this is the time we're of equal. Today, you will get the answers to your questions and -" Heymish cut her off before she could say anything else, he respected their privacy.
"Sorry Autumn but this is Heymish. Day passed out so she's in the sick bay, I wanted to take her to the hospital but the nurse is waiting for her to regain conciousness and if she can't within," he checked the time on Day's mobile screen, '2 hours, then we shall admit her in the hospital."
"What happened to her?!"
"She just passed out while in the assembly square."
"Was it too sunny?"
"Yeah."
"Heymish, her skin is too sensitive for the sun! And please do not take her to the hospital! Bring her home now!"
"Kay, I will try."
"A.S.A.P!" her voice was filled with a mixture of terror and worry. She disconnected the call.
Heymish turned to Day and smiled weakly, "Happy Born Day, sweetheart" He wiped off the tear that rolled down his cheek.
