Her fingers ran through the intricate designs of the jewelry box. It was designed in gold with some ancient calligraphy on the sides. Day heaved a sigh before opening it.
A ruby sat elegantly on the gold ring. With the letter, it seemed to be acute proposal. Day was overwhelmed. The first guy she actually liked now seemed like a mystery..
Day sniffed as a tear escaped her round with sadness, brown eye. What can the possibilities be now? Is it something delightful or something totally devastating...
"What does it mean, Autumn?"
Autumn wiped her sister's tears which fell like clear, big crystals down her cheeks with her pale thumb. "Do you like him?"
Day nodded, "I just realized a few days ago that I do."
"Why do I feel it has gone beyond like.."
"You're right," Day nodded again as she swallowed her saliva.
"Then it is nothing to be worried about! It's actually a good thing that there's a possibility for him to be a vampire or a hybrid. It would be a worry if he was just a mere human being," Autumn smiled ever so brightly with her eyes twinkling in the evening light.
"Worry?" her question replaced worry with confusion.
"Well, D, now that you know you're a vampire hybrid, your senses are much more stronger, your thinking is much more lucid, as I was controlling your mind partially till now. I can no longer use my powers on you. Even before it was hard, your mind is already very..complex and now, it's even harder."
"Complex? Harder? I get none of this."
"Yes, partially because of your own powers, strength and will and partially because of your humane emotions, it's far too strong to handle. Usually these emotions, which are bottled up for far too much, break it down and explode, hurting almost everyone around that person. Including her."
Day sighed as she tried to clear the clouds of confusion covering her mind thickly. "So how should we do this?"
"You shouldn't go to school for some days, just to learn to control the cravings, we, dhamphirs do crave blood, but I have learnt to control it."
"How can I not go to school?" Her jaw trembled, disturbing the flow of her voice, "What will my friends think? And after all this, I need to be there - with him."
"Heymish is our neighbour D," she added blankly, "You can talk to him any time of the day you like. But for now, we have some training to do."
The sun had set, darkness shadowed. The clouds murmured as the drops of drizzle reached the window pane in soft splashes. The soft noise it created was melodious, in a way. The breeze which flowed along with the drizzle seemed to say something. It retained a faint aura of mystery, will, power and love. All together, created a powerful energy.
Her room was in complete darkness, but it was no surprise that Day could see her room very clearly. Her violet furnishings, her Bieber posters, her full length mirror, infront of which she liked to criticise about her own self, and her vampire hybrid sister whose eyes faintly illuminated in the darkness. She cleared her throat, "training?"
"Oh, wait till you see." Autumn grinned deviously.

There was blood everywhere.
Autumn had brought Day down to a hidden cellar in their house which she did not know existed. The room didn't need any lights, due to their increased power in sight, they barely needed the small bulb that hung in the middle of the room, spreading light selfishly. The room was barren apart from the tables and stools placed just underneath the bulb, an old, dusty cupboard occupied the left corner of the room. Surely this room needed some serious cleaning up. If her hands weren't with the heavy chains, Day would have ran and gotten a broom by now. But unfortunately, and to her dismay, Autumn had tied her hands, which rested on her backside, with some really strong chains and perhaps a couple of padlocks.
C'mon, you can't expect a dhamphir to be tied for this long with just one padlock securing her hands, can you?
Autumn pushed Day gently to the bowls of meat, which when held up, dripped blood, thick, rich blood, stationed underneath the light. The scent lured her nearer towards the meat. She sniffed hard and long. "This smells delicious.." she groaned as she tried wriggling her wrists out from the padlocked chains.
She stopped, though, as a more powerful smell, a more tempting smell filled her smelling senses. Day walked cautiously towards the table on the far right, where the light didn't reach. "This smells even better.." She bent down and sniffed hard again. "Autumn, take these off!" She yelled, dying to taste the tempting blood which lay in packets on the table, "take these off, right now!"
Her eyes glowed red as warm tears streamed down, she dropped on her knees and sobbed, "I can't do this, I need to taste it."
"But you can't."
"I know," the tears trickled down her neck, onto her chest, "it's human blood, I can smell it."
"It's true Day, it is. And you have to learn to control it - the temptations."
