"normality is a paved road, its comfortable to walk but no flowers grow."
leaning against the beige leather seat, the young ceo stretched, his taut biceps and smooth abs on display as he groaned simultaneously, the bone cracking sound echoing in the room.
"you shouldn't gave done that, gguk. joonwoo is already furious."
jeongguk opened his closed eyes and glanced at the displeased expression of his best friend.
"i bet dad is laughing his ass off behind that angry facade he has built up, jiminie. no need to worry."
park jimin sighed, gliding a hand through his freshly dyed golden hair, that same look on his face. a casual game of online truth and dare, took turns when one of his buddies dared them to dye their hair. jimin's blonde and jeongguk's a weird shade of light pink. jeongguk expected to look like some fucking ice-cream but he surprisingly ended up looking decent, except for the fact that his father had choked on the half burned fried rice as soon as he had a look at his son.
ever since the young alpha's mother's death, joonwoo had become slightly distant, because, of course, she was his wife. his mate. his life partner. jeon eunae was the best thing that jeongguk could even ask for and he had been so lucky to have a mother like her by his side. supporting his decisions. but the gloom of his mother's death still haunted him. the alpha was just eighteen when he had returned from busan to permanently live with his parents, after completing his high school. eunae had shifted to her wolf form to go for the usual night run. but unlike the other nights, she did not return. jeongguk had almost locked himself up in his room, refusing to see and talk to anyone except for jimin and his father, refusing to eat or even attend the funeral. because he still couldn't believe she was gone. the initial shock was too overwhelming to the just-adult jeongguk. the sadness tor him apart, still he somehow managed to drag himself from the whole situation of bitterness and self-loathing, blaming himself for his mother's untimely death.
joonwoo didn't like the idea of his son earning the title of "ceo" at the ripe age of twenty one but he had no other choice, his health was barely withstanding with his old age. nevertheless, the twenty- one year old alpha had to work really hard to keep jeon inc. all the way to the top five. if only could he get rid of the barrier standing on his way to reach the same level as global unit corporations.
"that was really immature of you, gguk. bribing all the decorators in seoul to not work for kim corps. was not a smart idea." jimin huffed, a scowl on his beautiful features. jeongguk still didn't understand as to why he was worried about this whole ordeal. messy blond streaks was pushed back, his forehead exposed. a plain white shirt with few buttons open and a dark blazer laid neatly on his short stature. the distress was radiating off his hazel orbs.
"that bastard deserves this." the alpha mumbled, swiveling his chair and met the cream walls, the city skyline exposed behind the glass windows, as seen from the corner of his eyes.
"if taehyung comes to know." jimin continued, pacing around the room, wringing his hands, "the hell he would unleash. you've no idea who you're dealing with."
jeongguk chuckled before waving his hand dismissively, making the beta grunt at the younger's casualness.
"the party's in two days. and we're invited."
jeongguk shot a questioning glance at the blonde, a ruby red ring twirling between his fingers.
"so? that's nothing new, hyung. taewon's always the one the one to send the invitation cause his son is too much of an arse to do so."
the beta shook his head at the ceo's immaturity and dumbness, before the exiting the room, leaving jeongguk alone with his thoughts.
