"take my hand and show me forever so never will i ever let you go."
things back at jeon inc and kim corporations were actually going smooth with the respective co-ceos taking care of the affairs.
seoul was busier than ever with school children hooting and causing a scene on their way, the market place filled with sellers selling and buyers bargaining, a few young adults were leaning against a wall just outside a battered candy shop, wearing dark kohl and dreadlocked hair, casually smoking a joint. but the sky was still devoid of the pulpy sun, the air tasted acidic like it might rain later, the surroundings still and sticky with humidity. all in one, the weather was awful.
"..so that is all. all of this are the necessary details of the app you are about to create. we, obviously, donot aim for success in the first try but i hope this must be a piece of cake. most of you are new and of course if you need any help, we're there and the old employees are there too. everyone has taken down notes, i suppose. the deadline will soon be informed but first discuss amongst yourselves the approach of the app, right? any questions? all fine, then. you're dismissed." jeongguk finished, as he watched the employees filing out of the conference room, one by one. some bowing and some sending a decent smile.
taehyung pretty much observed everything from the opposite wall, sometimes adding a phrase or two but it was jeongguk who did most of the talking. well, taehyung had never been very good with this whole speaking in public thing.
as the spacious room with pale yellow walls was just filled with the two ceos, jeongguk placed both of his palms flat on the table top, exhaling heavily.
much to taehyung's surprise, the younger was mostly wearing casuals to work. starting from the leather jacket ending with the black fila hoodie he was wearing today. it somehow made him look younger.
the oversized wear was pushed back from his wrists, expelling another of those dark ink, making taehyung gulp before looking away.
"one heck of a job." the alpha muttered before straightening and unscrewing the bottle, the cold liquid satisfying his dry throat.
"i spoke to soomin over phone today morning. she was delighted to hear the news of the app." taehyung said, as he looked at the younger, who was still drinking thirstily.
"that's good to hear." the alpha said, screwing the bottle and placing it on the table again.
the two ceos had a few outbursts, the following days, jeongguk had accidentally spilled hot black coffee on taehyung's white shirt receiving a death glare from him, then another time when taehyung had snatched away the younger's phone just when he was about to win a pubg match. a full blown fight had broke out. but that was all, nothing major, just a few bad names they call each other and the common insults. inspite of this, the duo still had civil conversations of course not about their personal life.
taehyung went and sat on the other end of the desk, opposite jeongguk.
"when did you get those?" taehyung blurted, without thinking. the alpha looked at the other, clearly taken aback.
"uh.. when i was seventeen. got fake ids." jeongguk shrugged, as he pushed the sleeves further up, more of those ink coming into view.
glimpsing at jeongguk's tattoos were like an insight into his soul. taehyung felt like he was invading the other's personal space but he couldn't stop staring at the art before him.
he could make out a few latin verses just across his wrist, a miniature bouquet of daisies just underneath the fold of his elbow. dark swirls of fire, an eye leaking with clear tears, a watercoloured building and a beautiful branch full of flowers on his front triceps.
"wow..these designs. are they yours?" taehyung asked, trying very hard not to trace his fingers across the surreal beauty sprawled in front. the last time they accidentally had skin contact, things didn't go well.
"yes. i drew them first and took these specific ones to the artist." the younger explained, eyes on his tattoos, his sleeves now covering them up, one by one.
"you draw? that's ..nice to hear." taehyung mumbled, his cheeks flushed.
jeongguk nodded, a sheepish smile on his face.
"thanks, i guess."
taehyung nodded, coming down from the table and walking to the other side.
'wait, taehyung."
the trueblood stilled and turned around, the blood pounding in his ears.
that was the first time jeongguk had called him by his own name cause it was always kim or asshole.
"that's hyung to you"
jeongguk rolled his eyes as he walked towards the other, standing eye-level.
"don't get your hopes high. i'm not calling you that."
"you-"
"i'm sorry."
taehyung stopped, mouth still open, eyebrows furrowed.
"for what?" he asked, as he watched the other squirm slightly under his gaze.
"for calling your mother that. i shouldn't have said such things. i apologise."
taehyung was stunned.
was he dreaming?
"huh? oh. oh no. its alright. i apologise too. for nearly killing y-"
"no. you don't have to. if i was in your place, i would've done the same thing."
taehyung opened his mouth to say something but closed it again. he was amazed.
maybe jeongguk was really a different person. cause never in a thousand years did taehyung imagine to receive an apology. maybe he should give the kid a chance.
but, god, jeon jeongguk was full of surprises.
