Complimenting others is more than, "I like your dress" or "that colour suits you." It is going deeper, to the core. Don't get me wrong, physical compliments are great as they build self-esteem and confidence but there is something about going beneath the flesh.

You inspire me • You're equally beautiful on the inside • You bring out the best in me • Your strength is commendable • You are wiser than King Solomon! • Etc
These are great boosters. When you compliment a person there is a high chance of them wanting to get better as it is a subtle for of motivation.
Go, start flattering! Start with yourself and then others.
